metti dhcp + chiave wpa
in questo modo sei abbastanza sicuro e dovresti poter usare network-manager

il problema è che mi servirebbe l'ip statico!!
cmq metto qui gli errori che mi dà quando lancio il wpa_supplicant,giusto per vedere se qualcuno capisce dov'è l'errore!

hai ragione su questo ma alla fine i gateway dei router sono quasi sempre riconoscibili,basta fare una prova...
ora sono connesso wireless tramite wlassistant con ip statico
ho impostato il MAC address...giusto per avere un minimo di protezione
ora provo ad impostare la chiave wep anche se ancora non ho capito se supporta quella a 64 o 128  ???
boh proverò e ti faccio sapere!

cmq spero per il futuro che si riesca ad implementare una buona funzionalità wpa sul networkmanager che permetta anche l'ip statico!

credo che questo è uno degli obiettivi principali sullo sviluppo di network-manager

cmq una cosa che mi innervosisce parecchio è che prima con fwcutter riuscivo ad utilizzare il wpa!
ora non sò perchè ma non ne vuole sapere!
rettifico quello che ho detto prima non si connette in nessun modo con ip statico nè con wl assistant nè in maniera manuale!
mio dio che mal di testa!
sono tre giorni che gli stò dietro e non sono riuscito a venirne fuori!
quasi quasi torno a fwcutter e rimando a tempi migliori il contratto a 20 mega!  :(

Scusate se mi intrometto:
Utilizzare ip statici + wpasupplicant è una cosa più che fattibile.
Anzi io di solito consiglio ip statici al posto del dhcp anche perchè si velocizza l'avvio della connessione (non è necessario richiedere ogni volta un ip al router...).
Dall'output che riporti di wpasupplicant, sembra tutto ok e non dovresti aver particolari problemi.

Se hai seguito il wiki di wpasupplicant, dovresti aver configurato correttamente /etc/network/interfaces e /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
Postali qua che controlliamo ;)

Beh come riportato nella guida di wpasupplicant, ti mancano le 2 righe per far partire il wpa-supplicant con l'interfaccia (eth1), ovvero:

cmq le due righe neanche ai tempi di fwcutter le avevo messe e cmq si connetteva lo stesso!

Beh direi che ha funzionato! Sei correttamente associato all'access point, infatti è apparso il suo indirizzo mac.

Ora dovresti essere in grado di pingare il gateway (almeno)
