Ubuntu 7.04: niente rete

Ho appena installato la ubuntu 7.04 e non riesco ad andare su internet...mi spiego meglio.
Se attivo il dhcp non ottengo niente (niente ip, netmask, gateway), se imposto i parametri manualmente non riesco nè a navigare ne a pingare gli altri utenti della lan... siccome ho due pc collegati in contemporanea uso uno swithch avendo una sola presa ethernet in camera.

Provando in un'altra camera della stessa lan (stavolta senza switch) riesco a prendere indirizzo, netmask ecc.. ma non riesco nè a navigare nè a pingare siti. se invece provo a pingare un altro utente della lan otenngo host unreacheable...

A cosa potrebbe essere dovuto? Con altre distribuzioni linux e con windows riesco a navigare quindi escluderei problemi al mio switch...

A volte il problema c'è se si è effettuato un aggiornamento da edgy, ma se non è il tuo caso non saprei

sto provando e riprovando: a volte prende solo l'indirizzo, a volte non prende niente....

dopo aver settato gliindirizzi a mano tramite l'interfaccia grafica, se do sudo ifconfig mi fa vedere

eth0
          inet6


etho: avah
          inet addr:169.254.4.166  mask 255.255.0.0


mentre io avevo settato un 192.168.x.x

Ho scaricato nuovamente l'immagine della live e ho avviato la stessa...
indirizzo, gateway, mask e dns sono ok...ma non pinga e non va su internet...
ma cosa può essere???? sto pensando che è come se fosse bloccato da un firewall...

Intanto leva il protocollo ipv6 che tanto non ti serve a nulla...e poi riprova, sia mai che è quello :d

La tua linea o la tua periferica (modem / router) perché se imposti il dhcp e non parte...

la linea funziona... se uso lo stesso pc con windows funziona tutto

La tua connessione è attiva? Vai nel pannello connessioni e controlla. A volte può capitare che per qualche remota ragione la scheda si disattivi, o sia disattivata di default. Altro caso (a me capitato) era che con windows voleva il bridging, mentre con Ubuntu no...al tuo posto proverei con uno e poi l'altro. Per farlo devi entrare fisicamente nel modem.

forse si riesce a capire qualcosa in più: se do il dmesg ottengo

irq 23: nobody cared (try booting  with the "irqpoll" option )

se poi faccio un cat di /proc/interrupts

al 23 ho eth0 che è la mia scheda di rete

Ho risolto il problema

nel file /boot/grub/menu.lst basta aggiungere

noapic pci=noacpi

alla voce ubuntu

anche io ho un problema analogo ....sto cercando il collegamento da qualche giorno ....il pc non fa il ping con il router.

per provare la tua soluzione ti chiedo " dove hai aggiunto la riga??

nel mio caso non funziona :'(

dopo la modifica ho fatto restart ma non pingavo neanche sulla scheda di rete

incomincio a pensare che il problema sta nel router che non riesce a dialogare con ubuntu??

posso verificare questo??

Nn mi sono chiare alcune cose:
  • usi un portatile o un fisso?
  • se scrivi ping 127.0.0.1 va a buon fine?
  • su windows va tutto bene?
  • dai sudo dmesg e postalo

uso un portatile acer per ubuntu ;D
sul router è connesso un pc con windows xp che funziona bene :D

quando accendo il portatile e provo a fare un ifconfig la scheda non ha indirizzo e la luce verde è spenta ::)

poi come root
ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.100 (pongo l' indirizzo statico alla scheda)

a questo punto verifico con un ifconfig (ora la scheda ha un ip)

provo a pingare ping 192.168.1.100 (lo fa)

provo a pingare il router ping 192.168.1.1 (non lo fa Unreachable)

provo a pingare ping 127.0.0.1 (lo fa!!! ma su cosa ho pingato??)

poi do il comando dmesg

mi da una serie di istruzioni  (un po lungo!!!! :o)
