[RISOLTO] Problema gestore aggiornamenti (dimensione cache?)

Dopo aver aggiornato un vecchio pc che ho rispolverato ieri ho aggiornato il sistema alla versione 10.04 ma quando sono andato per aggiornare alla 10.10 durante il caricamento del gestore pacchetti mi appare questo messaggio :


Impossibile inizializzare le informazioni del pacchetto

Si è verificato un problema irrisolvibile durante l'inizializzazione delle informazioni del pacchetto.

Segnalare questo bug per il pacchetto «update-manager» e includere il seguente messaggio d'errore:

'E:MMap dinamica esaurita. Aumentare la dimensione di APT::Cache-Limit. Come posso risolvere??

controlliamo come sta messo il pc. dai i comandi che seguono e incolla gli output:

lsb_release -a

Per i comandi di aggiornamento il messaggio di errore è il medesimo del 1°post

vai su sistema amministrazione sorgenti software (non ricordo se su xubuntu il percorso è lo stesso, ma se non lo trovassi digita in un terminale gksu software-properties-gtk), seconda scheda, e togli i repository riferiti a karmic. chiudi sorgenti software, fagli ricaricare gli indici e riprova da terminale col comando:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

se sorgenti software in chiusura dovesse darti errori, digita anche:
sudo apt-get update

prima dell'altro comando.
