Problemi con DELL Latitude D505 sk sonora

Ciao a tutti ho installato ubuntu 6.06, l'installazione è andata benissimo purtroppo mi trovo un problema con la scheda sonora
che sembra essere riconosciuta dal sistema (fa' anche il suono quando carica X) ma appena provo a utilizzare l'icona del volume mi da' come errore "GStreamer plugina and/or device not found."
ho scaricato xmms e quando provo a riprodurre un mp3 mi da' l'errore "failed to open audio output: ALSA 1.2.10 output plugin"
se uso Rhythmbox clikko su play e non succede nulla...

Qualcuno sa' darmi una dritta?
