ciao.

ho cercato la soluzione chattando e googolando, ma non l'ho trovata...

la versione beta della feisty accetta la scheda video installata, nessun problema apparente, ma quando sono andato a verificare se avessi installata la 3d per la ati radeon 9250, dove la wiki http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Abilitare3DAt ... t=%283d%29 mi dice che basta attivare i driver con restricted manager, da menù gnome o da terminale con "sudo restricted-manager", ricevo questo output:

l'hardware in uso non necessita di alcun driver con restrizioni

ho eseguito il comando "fglrxinfo" conq uesto output:

Assicurarsi di avere il componente «restricted» abilitato
bash: fglrxinfo: command not found

quindi ho installato fglrx come da indicazione, seguendo la solita wiki, ma non potendo riavviare il desktop ho ricopiato l'xorg.conf originale salvato, che qui allego.

ora la cosa curiosa è questa:

se eseguo "fglrxinfo" ricevo questo output

display: :0.0  screen: 0

(notare che nell'xorg.conf il driver è invece corretto ATI)

e se eseguo: "sudo restricted-manager" ricevo questo:
modinfo: could not find module fglrx

(mentre fglrx invece è installato)

qualcuno può darmi indicazioni?

prova a cambiare da driver "ati" in driver "fglrx" comunque fai sempre un backup del tuo xorg.conf
il cambio da ati a fglrx lo fatto su ubuntu 6.10 per feisty non garantisco nulla

sì ho seguito questa wiki  http://forum.ubuntu-it.org/viewtopic.php?t=41065
provando tutte le versioni dei driver ati 8.28.8, 8.29.6, 8.30.3, 8.35.5 e cambiando il vesa con fglrx, come indica la wiki appunto...

in affetti l'errore si verifica dopo "sudo module-assistant build fglrx" devo stoppare il processo per errore. non so se ciò dipenda dal fatto che installo "bash ati-driver-installer-8....  --buildpkg Ubuntu/edgy" se cambio con feisty invece va subito in errore...

sto provando le soluzioni proposte, ma adesso le ho completate...

risorry forse non è un abbaglio anche perché ho notato in un punto della guida che bisognerebbe installare questi driver:ati-driver-installer-8.24.8-x86.run

sì ho seguito ciascuna di quelle wiki

semmai posso indicare il link del file  fglrx-kernel-source.buildlog.2.6.20-14-generic. che mostra degli errori, ahimè non so interpretarlo...

non sono sicurissimo che la radeon 9200 sia supportata dagli fglrx comunque...altrimenti puoi utilizzare solo i driver "radeon" opensources

ti sbagli, se ciò non vale solo per la vers. feisty. nelle precedenti release, funziona benissimo...

ho seguito il tuo link, ma ho i soliti errori... forse dovrei combinare la patch (?) con il resto della guida di questo sito...

non ho capito dove mi sbaglio...sulla 9200 o sulla patch?..perche' io li ho installati ma con la 2° patch applicata..stessa versione del kernel

mi riferivo a questo.
in realtà però nelle versioni dapper e edgy non sono presenti nell'xorg.conf e vengono rimossi dall'installazione.
