cavoli... ieri cmq mi dava errore al grub, a stò punto ho preso e ho messo ubuntu... vedo di seguire le due guide per ati qui su ubuntu....

come metto l'accelerazione?
l'accelerazione non si "mette"..bisogna solo caricare i driver fglrx..

ho abilitato i driver! bene, ora se vedo l'esisten dell'accelerazione avrò un No
Qua non ho capito..installare correttamente i driver significa avere l'acc3d..se al

glxinfo | grep rendering

ottieni un no..i driver non sono installati o comunque non caricati

poi con i driver installati che devo mettere? xgl? beryl? compiz? boh
questa e' una cosa a parte..e' facoltativo non e' legato ai driver.
Se vuoi avere il desktop 3d,una volta installati gli fglrx,puoi scegliere se installare xgl o meno (con beryl che e' il window manager)
compiz funziona solo con aiglx (e non puoi usarlo aiglx perche' non e' supportato dai driver che hai o che stai installando)

molto esauriente, che dire.. ho seguito la guida per installare i driver, al riavvio avevo uno schermo più nitido con i dpi delle scritte chiari... faccio glxinfo | grep rendering
e ho il no...

e vedi se da errore..poi hai cambiato da vesa a fglrx nello xorg.conf?..come ti ho fatto vedere qualche post sopra?

no lo xorg.conf ...quelli sono i vari backup..


PS.  spesso il file che hai indicato basta sostituirlo allo xorg.conf (semplicemente sovrascrivendolo) ma prima meglio che lo posti per controllare...

una precisazione...magari non e' scontatissimo..ma non e' che le modifiche hanno effetto da quando salvi il file..bisogna ogni volta riavviare xorg con

sudo killall Xorg

CAzzarola ho provato a fare sia col disable che con lo 0, non va... penso che xgl sia un utopia..
