no non farlo attiverai i driver propretari così facendo io uso quelli open che sono migliori e permettono di utilizzare compiz e beryl in una sessione gnome normale e non con xgl che ti toglie l'accelerazione 3d aspettiamo di avere una risposta da gente più esperta

si fidati io pentii quando feci quella cosa..oltretutto non è molto stabile xgl almeno con la nostra scheda video...
dobbiamo solo aspettare che qualcuno risponda al mio quesito:


Ho la stessa scheda video di Morpheo83 se passo a lui il mio xorg.conf funzionerà tutto come funziona a me?io uso i driver open e va perfettamente sia beryl che compiz

nn necessariamente funzionerà tutto uguale a te...se gli passi il tuo xorg...puoi avere periferiche in più o in meno potete aggiustarlo per quello che vi serve...cioè passare solo le stringe importanti le altre lasciarle come sono

i driver proprietari nn ti daranno alkun problema una volta montati anke se nn ci potrai caricare beryl o compiz se nn con gnome ed xgl

p.s. una volta caricati i proprietari dovranno essere tolti per montare gli open altrimenti ci sono dei problemi e nn funzioneranno correttamente questi ultimi....

io parlo per esperienza personale...il comportamento delle periferiche a volte si può capire solo provando ad averle...cmq posto tutto il mio xorg e poi gli dite voi le righe da prendere

se ho beryl e compiz ho chiaramente anche il 3d  :P

Raga questo è il mio xorg...che mi consigliate?
smanettando al pc cmq ho riscontrato un altro problema:non riesco ad abilitare gli effetti del desktop  :'(

Inoltre ieri ero sicuro di aver installato l'accellerazione 3d...ora andando invece mi esce questo

che mi ha aiutato a risolvere il problema del driver, degli effetti desktop etc!!!

mha.. ::) avevi i driver propietari correttamente installati..bastava solo levare questa opzione completamente sbagliata

le differenze tra il mio xorg e il tuo sono che io nella sezione io ho il type1 e tu no
a che serve?
e poi nella

questo valore abilitato devo toglierlo?

L'opzione AIGLX è per abilitare le AIGLX per gli effetti speciali del desktop 3D.

AIGLX nello xorg 7.2 di feisty è attivo automaticamente se nn sbaglio

Ma porca pu...ero riuscito ad attivare tutto...compiz, effetti del desktop ecc...ma ora andando a riavviare non mi fungono di nuovo gli effetti del DESKTOP!!!

prova inanzitutto a avviarli manualmente...ma stai usando i driver proprietari?e una sessione xgl?

Ho disinstallato i file proprietari ed ho installato quelli ati da qui http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Hardware/Vide ... deonDriver
e poi non so cosa sia la sessione xgl.. :-[
