[Beryl] Della serie: come far piantare ubuntu 7

Ciao a tutti, primo post e prima richiesta di aiuto.
Pensavo fosse quasi impossibile piantare ubuntu ed invece ci sono riuscito.
Nel maldestro tentativo di far funzionare beryl (funziona tutto ma le icone delle finestre non si vedono quando sono massimizzate, ma chiederò dopo) ho modificato il file xorg.conf nella dir X11, dopo aver letto alcuni post.
Riavvio e non parte più, mi dice che c'è un errore nel server X derivante dal file xorg.conf alla riga 97 (probabilmente dove ho fatto la modifica) e mi presenta il login.
Ora, come è possibile modificare il file xorg.conf da riga di comando?
Ho provato con sudo edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf ma niente, perchè?
Mentre il file rgb.txt con lo stesso comando mi permette di editarlo.
Che comando devo usare per ripristinare/modificare xorg.conf?
Tenete presente che sono ZERO, quindi......

allora prima di tutto devi fare ripartire l'xserver quindi:
sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
qui le istruzioni per nano
http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Nano
e ripristini il file come prima
poi una volta su ubuntu
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
e poi posti il file qui

Stasera provo poi vedo di postare xorg.conf per risolvere con beryl.
Pur avendo un notebook vecchiotto beryl funziona bene, solo che non si vedono la x e gli altri bottoni quando le finestre sono massimizzate.

Infatti da zero di linux che so ho provato con edit di winoz che però mi ha editato solo il .txt e no .conf......adesso conosco nano
Qui si parla di schede nvidia, io ho ati.

Peccato che per 4 icone si debba fare tutto sto casino di configurazione, il resto va alla grande.

L'altra volta che ho modificato xorg ho piantato tutto.
