beryl non parte

Aiuto! non so che fare per far partire beryl. ho dato un'occhiata alle istruzioni ma non so da dove iniziare, sono una frana  :'(

Per vedere se hai l'accelerazione 3D abilitata( Senza beryl non puo' funzionare) digita il comando:

glxinfo | grep direct

ed incolla il risultato...

Incolla anche il contenuto del file di configurazione che contiene le impostazioni xorg, che è il server X.
Il server X è il motore grafico di un sistema operativo Linux (più corretamente GNU/linux).
Per incollarlo devi prima visualizzarlo:

installa il pacchetto beryl (se non lo hai già) e appena finito di installarlo digita da shell:
beryl

dopo digita
emerald --replace &

a questo punto dovresti avere beryl funzionante!
prova premendo alt+ctrl e muovi il mouse!
Oppure vedi se le finestre hanno cambiato stile (emerald applica un suo stile ma funziona solo se beryl è in funzione)
e sono "gommose"

avevo cambiato sessione, avevo scelto sessione XGL ha funzionato per un pò ma ad un certo punto quella sessione è terminata sola e inderendo username e passw mi dà un errore.

no no prova senza xgl. dovrebbe funzionare uguale. Parti con la sessione normale e fai quanto ti ho detto.
Hai inserito le righe in xorg.conf?
se ti da errori dopo che hai lanciato beryl incollami gli errori.

no no. devi usare la sessione non predefinita (perchè attualmente hai impostato come predefinita xgl) usa gnome come sessione.
Poi fai quello che ti ho detto.
Quando mi hai detto incollato il risultato di glxinfo sono sicuro che lo hai tirato fuori usando una sessione *NON XGL*
altrimenti non avresti avuto la voce
