salve io ho un acer aspire 1650 con un hard disk da 250 gb con installato ubuntu 9.04 e volevo installare anche acheos 2.0.0.
il mio disco e ripartito: 14 gb per ubuntu, 2 gb per la swap, e tutto il resto per la home..
volevo sapere se è fattibile.. e che qualcuno molto gentilmente mi spieghi come fare..

Certo che è fattibile 

Ti fai un backup di tutti i dati che devi salvare (quelli presenti nella partizione /home), non si sa mai... Poi inserisci il cd di ubuntu, una volta caricato il sistema live clicchi su Sistema → Amministrazione → QualcosaRiguardanteIDischi... Dovrebbe essere gparted, ma non ne sono sicuro

Una volta che si è avviato il programma, vedrai una schermata simile a questa: dovrai cliccare sulla partizione finale e ridurla in questa maniera
Dopo dovrai aspettare una mezzoretta circa...


Così facendo hai creato uno spazio vuoto per ArcheOS... Tu poi quando lo installerai, indicherai quella partizione vuota come "/"... Ora non ho mai installato questa distro, quindi non ti so dire niente di più...

Ah, la partizione di swap è comune a entrambi i sistemi operativi: non dovrai crearne una quando installi la nuova distro


Facci sapere per qualsiasi problema

ho creato la partizione per archeos.. però ogni volta che provo a scaricare il file iso archeos l'md5 risulta diverso da quello fornito dal sito.. e poi quando lo masterizzo e provo ad installarlo nella partizione che ho creato la finestra della percentuale di installazione sparisce..

Come lo scarichi? Da server o da torrent?

lo scarico da link... però ora sono riuscito a scaricarlo con md5 uguale a quello fornito dal sito.. l'ho anche installato però quando riaccendo il pc mi vede che ci sono installati due sistemi operativi però non mi fa partire più ubuntu..

il disco è partizionato così:
10 giga per ubuntu
altri 10 giga per archeos
2 giga per la swap
e il resto per la homeee..

Mostraci il tuo file /boot/grub/menu.lst presente in Archeos

si è presente..
mi trova archeos che è nominato: ubuntu 7.10
e poi trova 3 versioni di ubuntu 9.04
quando provo ad aprire ubuntu mi dice errore schiaccia qualsiasi chiave.. e quando do enter ritorna al grub

Bene... Ora fai così: una volta avviato archeos, monta, la partizione di ubuntu jaunty...

Quindi, una volta fatto ciò, la apri e vai nella cartella boot → grub e apri il file menu.lst

Attenzione! Questo file non è quello di Archeos!!
Ora lo scorri verso il basso fino a quando non arrivi alla riga ## ## End Default Options ##

Qui saranno presenti tutti gli ubuntu 9.04... fai un copia-incolla in modo da sostituire quelli del menu.lst di archeos (quelli dopo la riga ### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST)


Detto in poche parole: il menu.lst di archeos è quello che legge il pc quando lo avvii... Esso avvia correttamente archeos, ma ha dei problemi con ubuntu. Perciò copiamo le righe del vecchio menu.lst (che non è più usato) che facevano avviare ubuntu  le sostituiamo a quelle dell'attuale menu.lst, ma solo quelle di ubuntu

Per qualsiasi problema chiedi pure 

ok.. allora ho provato.. ma dopo end debian automatic kernels list non c'è niente.. cmq ho copiato (tutti gli ubuntu che c'erano dopo end default options) e gli incollati dopo la stringa di end debian automatic kernels però non mi lascia salvare... >:(

Per sovrascriverlo (non si hanno i permessi sufficienti) bisogna lanciare questo comando
Nel caso non si avvii ubuntu neanche in questo modo ho un'altra idea, quindi facci sapere
