l' antivirus ti restituisce un falso positivo per caso?
ad alcuni ho letto che è successo
in ogni caso invoca solo una iso, non dovrebbero esserci guai

vorrei solo sapere se secure boot attivo + mbr è il modo più "postabile"?

Il secure boot (attivo o meno) è un'impostazione del tuo PC, e non di ventoy.
Se sul tuo PC con secure boot attivo parte, meglio così.
Altrimenti lo disattivi.

Per curiosità ieri ho voluto finalmente provare 'sto Ventoy: durante l'installazione del software sul mio disco esterno mi sembra di aver visto Secure Boot Support tra le opzioni flaggate di default
Ad ogni modo: finita l'installazione ci carico su qualche iso qua e là (Windows10 in diverse build, Kubuntu, Ubuntu server, un paio di versioni di ESXi, ...)

Lo provo su tre PC (un HP ProBook 450 G3, un Acer Travelmate P259, un Dell Latitude E7450). Niente da fare: se non disabilito Secure Boot da BIOS Ventoy non parte e mi da' questo:


Se carico invece le iso preparando chiavette singole va tutto bene, con o senza Secure Boot attivo nel BIOS. Possibile???

Sì, ne ero al corrente però quello che mi stupisce ancora adesso è proprio questo... (i laptop su cui ho fatto la prova non sono proprio il nuovo che avanza ma neanche modelli venduti in pochi pezzi)

Comunque la lista di PC di cui Ventoy non supporta il Secure Boot continua ad allungarsi. Provato recentemente su Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell XPS e HP ProBook: in questo caso tutti modelli recenti non più vecchi di uno o due anni. La mia perplessotudine si allunga...

Un'altra cosa che mi è capitata con Ventoy.
Giorni fa è fallita l'installazione di Windows 10 e 11 su un PC Dell recente. In pratica compariva l'avviso che mancavano i driver e bla bla bla.
Usata poi una chiavetta creata con altro programma, quindi funzionava correttamente.
Mi pare che la causa sia il funzionamento stesso di Ventoy, che viene visto come un lettore CD virtuale. L'ho letto da qualche parte, ma scusatemi se non mi metto a cercare link per suffragare questa affermazione...

PS: per il secure boot invece nessun problema, sia col vecchio firmware che con la versione aggiornata.

Anch'io nessun problema con Secure Boot. Ho provato Ventoy fin'ora su 4 PC diversi, diversi OS (Linux, Win 11 e Win 10) ma è sempre andato tutto a buon fine.

Salve, le uniche distro che m'hanno creato qualche grattacapo col Ventoy sono state Dahlia OS e Peppermint, colle altre nessun problema.

E' un topic di supporto o di opinioni? No perché a giudicare da molti post c'è stato anche del supporto....

Cmq anche io sono passato a ventoy dopo che multisystem ha cessato di "vivere" (il dominio non funziona più) una nota negativa è che mi lancia le ISO di ubuntu in inglese sebbene in ventoy abbia selezionato "IT" mentre multisystem me le mostrava già con la lingua ITA selezionata e soprattutto mi apriva la schermata di scelta tra "Prova ubuntu" e "Installa Ubuntu" già in modalità grafica, vabbè, non si pùò avere tutto...

Da quello che ho capito usandolo, è molto comodo ma ha delle imperfezioni (piccole o grandi a seconda dei casi).
Se si usa frequentemente una ISO (nel mio caso Windows 10 e 11) è sempre meglio avere un'altra chiavetta a disposizione perché talvolta potrebbe non avviarsi su qualche macchina e/o dare altri problemi (vedi mio post precedente).

Perché non è presente nei repo né in formato snap né in formato deb, devi scaricarlo da https://www.ventoy.net/en/download.html

Perché ad oggi il Ventoy è installabile solo in modalità portable.
