[Risolto] domanda sui kernel..

allora praticamente da quando ho istallato karmic ho dovuto formattare e reinstallarlo parecchie volte (a volte perchè ho sbagliato io altre non ne ho idea del perchè).. beh ora funziona ma il problema è che nel grub non mi fa scegliere tutti i kernel. ovvero mi fa scegliere solo il 2.6.31-15 quando io li ho istallati fino al 2.6.31-20... vabbe non è un problema grave ho detto, ora però penso una cosa però: quando uscirà lucyd linx, che ho intenzione di istallare, non è che mi può dare problemi questa cosa? perchè so che verrà istallata la versione 2.6.32 però anche anche se formatto l'hard disk per istallarci lucyd penso che il problema persisterà e dovrò tenermi la vecchi versione.. non c'è un modo per risolverlo? vi posto il contenuto di /boot/grub/menu.lst

Ciao, mi vengono in mente alcune domande:
cosa succede se selezioni un kernel .20 (messaggi di errore, etc)?
perché il kernel pae?
hai ancora grub-legacy; è una tua scelta?

non lo posso neanche selezionare il kernel .31-20.. non mi compare proprio nel grub. solo il .31-15.. in che senso il kernel pae? io istallo il kernel che mi danno non lo scelgo io  ??? ???.. non so che sia grub-legacy  ;D

no nada.. quando lo faccio mi dice che li ha trovati tutti ma poi al rivvio non me li fa selezionare.. posso usare questi:
  • ubuntu, linux 2.6.31-15 generic pae
  • ubuntu, linux 2.6.31-15 generic pae (recovery mode)
  • ubuntu, linux memorytest 86+
  • ubuntu, linux memorytest 86+ (serial console)

non mi ero sbagliato,come puoi vedere hai sia Grub-legacy che Grub2,praticamente il sistema si avvia usando Grub2 ma mette i kernel che aggiorni in Grub-legacy,proviamo a rimuovere Grub-legacy,dai nel terminale

sudo apt-get --purge remove grub
quando ha finito dai

e riavvia il pc.

ho disistallato quello che mi hai detto te.. ora però non riconosce neanche più il comando update grub.. "sudo: update-grub: command not found " :o :o

grazieee.. ora funziona.. una domanda. quando uscirà il nuovo ubuntu 10.04 ho intenzione di riformatytare tutto per istallarlo da live cd.. utilizzerò quindi il kernel che sarà di defult per quella versione e date che non mi servono più questi vecchi come potrei fare a eliminarli?

se reinstalli usando il live cd della 10.04 non avrai più i kernel della 9.10 ma quelli della 10.04.

ps ricordati di modificare il titolo dl primo post e aggiungerci risolto
