Salve a tutti io possiedo un PC con sistema operativo ubuntu 7.04, l ultima volta che ho acceso il PC sono andato a cambiare il suono di avvio di ubuntu e adesso il computer durante il caricamento della finestra del login si blocca nella parte in cui dovrebbe partire il suono... >:(
Sono disperato cosa posso fare?
Tenete presente che ancora adesso il computer non si riesce ad avviare in modalita normale, ma in modalita recovery mode si dalla shell potrei quindi fare qualcosa solo che non so proprio cosa fare...

entra in modalità provvisoria, metti utente e password e poi scrivi: startx

con questo comando dovrebbe partire la sessione e ti dovresti ritrovare sul tuo desktop.

si, già fatto... ma non voglio ogni volta che devo accendere il PC fare questo... vorri risolvere il problema definitivamente (yes)

OK, ma adesso quando sei nella sessione non puoi rimettere come era prima? togliere il suono di avvio? o non funziona cosi?

Io rimetto il suono --> riavvio --> il computer si blocca lo stesso = ancora non funcia normalmente il PC

altro cosiglio che ti posso dare é quello di controllare i messaggi di log.

Ad es. se usi kdm per il login trovi il log sotto /var/log/kdm.log.x
o anche nel log di xorg

Prova a controllare i vari log sicuramente troverai la causa di questo blocco.

Non mi pare molto facile anche perchè di quello che c' è scritto ne capisco poco e niente...
se tu mi dici che capisci i log ti invio il file (yes)

se si blocca in avvio è il server grafico.
è inutile postare file log anche perchè sono gosi grandi che occuperesti una trentina di pagine.

controlla sotto /var/log/Xorg.0.log

ti basta vedere dove trovi il simbolo dell'errore (EE) e al limite posti solo quelle righe

errato.
hai preso la parte alta del file che ti spiega i simboli, questa è uguale in tutti i file xorg
scorri le righe e trova quelle che iniziano per (EE).

ti dà questi errori, ma non sono questi a bloccarti il sistema, non so perchè ma in tutti i kernel cè sempre questa maledetta tavoletta wacom.
per il resto sembra a posto, dovrebbe partire a meno che tu non abbia preso il file xorg dopo che hai avviato con startx, startx non carica tutti i moduli e se un modulo è difettoso non viene riportato nel file log.

mi viene in mente un'altra prova
prova ad avviare in recovery mode e avvia il server grafico con init

gli init sono da 2 a 5, quindi prova con init 2, init 3 ecc.. e leggi i messaggi che ti dice a video

io per accedere ho semplicemente fatto i seguenti passaggi:
alt+ctrl+f1 --> username+password --> startx --> (segnale errore) --> mv /tmp/.X0-lock /home/scaccoman/desktop --> startx --> parte il server grafico

per vedere il file log completo dovresti avviare normalmente farlo andare in errore e poi da recovery mode lo leggi con nano (in recovery mode gedit non funziona).

ho provato init 2,3,4,5 ma mi si avvia la finestra di login e come nell' avvio normale si blocca...

in questo caso riavvia in modalità recovery mode e scrivi questo comando:

cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log /var/log/myXorg.log

dopo riavvia con startx e posta il file /var/log/myXorg.log

poi posta anche il file di configurazione de server
lo trovi in /etc/x11/xorg.conf
