[Ati] gestore driver con retrizioni

Ciao a tutti!
so che ci sono diversi topic riguardo i driver accellerati ati ma nn riesco a far andare la mia radeon 9600.
ogni volta che vado in gestore driver con retrizioni mi viene fuori il seguente errore: The software source for the package xorg-driver-fglrx is not enabled.
Ho provato a seguire http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Hardware/Vide ... deonDriver ma non ho avuto i risultati sperati.

Anche io ho una Ati Radeon ma per me funziona bene ora...  mi ricordo che anche a me appariva un messaggio in cui diceva che Ubuntu stava usando driver con restrizioni... poi semplicemente sono andato nella sezione driver con restrizione delle impostazioni di sistema, ho messo la spunta alla sezione del driver Ati che prima era disattivata, credo che mi abbia scaricato automaticamente qualche driver da internet e poi si è attivata. Scusa il post inutile.
Comunque da poco ho notato un topic segnato come importante riguardo i driver della Ati

io ho una 9600 e va bene.
come gia suggerito, disattiva la gestione dei driver con restrizioni e tutto dovrebbe andar bene.

Facciamo un po' di chiarezza sui driver ragazzi 

@black_swan Il link che hai riportato si riferisce ai driver open per le schede ATI (creato da programmatori volontari). Questo driver è già attivo in ubuntu e non devi fare nulla per attivarlo. I drivers che attivi con il gestore driver con restrizioni sono invece i drivers creati dalla casa produttrice ATI. Entrambi i driver assicurano accelerazione 3D.
L'unica differenza è che i drivers proprietari (almeno la versione che viene attivata dal gestore) non supporta AIGLX (composite manager per gli effetti desktop) mentre i driver open lo supportano. I driver proprietari hanno però delle prestazioni maggiori rispetto agli open

@eros88 Il topic che hai riportato si riferisce ai driver HD ovvero quelli per la nuova serie delle schede video ATI (HD2400, HD2600... ecc) e quindi non per la 9600...

grazie TheWall per la delucidazione.. l'unica cosa che non capisco è come mai appena installato ubuntu sono riuscito ad utilizzare i driver proprietari.. poi formattando per magia non mi si permette più di utilizzarli?

A parte scherzi, la cosa è strana. Dall'errore che ti dà il gestore driver con restrizioni io proverei a installare manualmente il pacchetto xorg-driver-fglrx  da Synaptic. Una volta fatto questo prova a utilizzare di nuovo il gestore driver e vedi che cosa ti dice.

Posta anche xorg.conf se puoi. Fai così: dai nel terminale

gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Poi fai copia-incolla e usa il bottone col cancelletto quando incolli il testo. Copialo tra i tags "code", altrimenti ti viene un post chilometrico.  ::)

credo che sia un problema collegato all'installazione di pacchetti.. ho provato a installare xorg-driver-fglrx ma mi ha dato the following packages have anresolvable dependencies. make sure that all required repositories are added and enabled in the preference fglrx-kernel-source Dipende: debhelper (>4.0.0) but it is not installable Dipende: dpatch (>=2.0.0) but it is not installable.
inoltre ho provato a installare vlc, bluetooh obex, e dei codec mp3 (perchè non mi andava vlc!) e mi ha dato problemi simili.

I problemi dei pacchetti sono molto strani... Prova ad andare in Sistema->Amministrazione->Sorgenti software e assicurati che nella prima schermata che ti appare sia tutto spuntato (ovvero sia tutto abilitato)... Poi clicca su chiudi e aspetta che tutto si chiuda da solo, poi riprova a installare qualcosa.

Grandissimo ora mi si installano tutti i pacchetti che voglio compresi quelli dei driver (e vlc)!  (b2b) ti devo una birra..
però prima di cantare vittoria attivando i driver proprietari e riavviando il computer mi va in 800 x 600.. e non mi è possibile aumentare la risoluzione..
