salve, ho un problema con lyx.
una volta creato un documento, voglio creare il pdf relativo, per cui vado nel menù: Vista->PDF(pdflatex) e mi compare questa finestra:
E' stato generato un output vuoto.
come mai?

Significa che si è riscontrato un errore.
Innanzitutto controlla di aver installato i pacchetti:
ps2pdf
dvipdfm
Pdflatex
Se ti dà ancora l'errore apri /Documenti/Registro di Latex e guarda che errore/i riporta.

Io li ho in usr/bin.
Dovrebbero esserci (almeno alcuni) in texlive-base-bin e in texlive-extra-utils (io uso texlive). Ps2pdf è nel pacchetto Ghostscript.
Comunque da terminale prova a vedere se ci sono già col comando:

whereis ps2pdf
whereis pdflatex
whereis dvipdfm

e guarda cosa dice /Documenti/Registro di Latex (dovrebbe aprire una piccola finestra) dopo aver dato il comando Vista->PDF(pdflatex).
Prova anche gli altri due comandi per la vista pdf (ps2pdf e dvipdfm).

La mancata visualizzazione potrebbe anche dipendere da un errore del testo. 

effettimamente ci sono tutti  e tre.

Dopo aver lanciato il comando: Vista->pdflatex comapare solo la finestra in cui mi dice "E' stato generato un output vuoto"

Ho provato effettivamente a lanciare il comando Vista->pdflatex con un piccolo file di prova e compare il pdf;
quindi penso ci sia un errore nel file di mio interesse.

Il problema è che non mi dice che c'è un errore. (tra l'altro il sorgente lo crea lyx!)

Ma hai guardato il file di log (quello che si apre con il menu /Documenti/Registro di Latex).
Gli eventuali errori sono lì.

Beh, non avendo installato Lyx non conosco le sue dipendenze ma, LaTeX è installato sul tuo computer?
