ho un problema insolito:
su una installazione pulita di hardy mi accade che quando mi collego in ssh tramite gnome-terminal il titolo del terminale non cambia, rimane al vecchio utente locale.
Avendo necessita di collegarmi a diverse macchine la cosa è abbastanza fastidiosa.
Il mio file .bashrc è il seguente:

Per quello che mi sembra di vedere il file bashrc sembra scritto correttamente.
