Lubuntu 14.04 - Crash firefox

Ciao a tutti,

ho installato da poco lubuntu 14.04 e ogni tanto firefox crasha senza motivo, a prescindere da quante schede siano aperte. A volte appena avviato il computer, faccio per aprirlo e crasha, posso riprovare decine di volte e contiuna a farlo. In quel caso l'unico rimedio è riavviare il computer.

un po' generica come informazione, non credi?
Se hai solo 1 gb di ram allora probabilmente dipende da quello. Devi installare un desktop meno esoso di unity. Secondo me ti conviene provare con questo:
sudo apt-get install gnome-session-flashback
una volta finita l'installazione esci dalla sessione ed al login scegli gnome flashback al posto di unity. Prova ad usarlo e vedi se firefox ti da ancora quel problema. Se lo fa ancora devi vedere che driver video usi e vedere se ce ne sono di più adatti.

Hai provato altri Browser? Oppure a rimuovere completamente firefox per poi reinstallarlo?

Potrebbe essere un problema di driver... non so, mandare i tuoi dati non fa certo male.

Prova eventualmente a ripristinare firefox.

Ah ok, provo e guardo se mi ridà il problema. Comunque prima mi riferivo ai comandi per vedere quali sono i driver installati e in caso installare quelli giusti.

vorrà dire che oltre ai 4 occhi che già ho me ne servono altri mai usato lubuntu, comunque per i driver dovresti guardare in sorgenti software - driver . Se non ti segnala driver proprietari vuol dire che il tuo profilo di firefox è sballato e devi ripristinarlo/cambiare.

Comunque ho fatto il ripristino ma mi ha dato lo stesso problema. Non so se c'entra, ma spesso appena entra in lubuntu, mi dice: "System program problem detected".

Comunque ho fatto il ripristino ma mi ha dato lo stesso problema. Non so se c'entra, ma spesso appena entra in lubuntu, mi dice: "System program problem detected".

intendi il ripristino di firefox? Prova ad essere più cattivo: rinomina la cartella .mozilla che hai nella home (firefox deve essere chiuso) e poi fai partire FF e vedi come si comporta. Se neppure questo funziona puoi provare a disabilitare il plugin flash oppure usare un altro browser.

Ho aperto firefox in modalità provvisoria con tutte le estensioni disabilitate ma non cambia niente, mentre con google chrome funziona bene.

non basta disabilitare le estensioni. Devi proprio cambiare il profilo perchè a parte le estensioni c'è qualcosa che si è sballato nel tuo profilo.
ps comunque, come ti era stato scritto, non devevi farlo partire in modalita provvisoria, ma fare questo

Aperto firefox, vai su aiuto, risoluzione problemi e trovi ripristina firefox.

Il ripristino l'ho fatto in quel modo. Provo comunque a cambiare profilo.
