[Risolto] Google Earth non carica il luogo ricercato

Ciao a tutti,
mi scuso per il titolo un po' criptico, cerco di spiegarmi meglio qui.
Ho scaricato il file deb di Google Earth dal sito, pochi giorni fa. L'installazione sul mio Gnome-Ubuntu 16.04 ha funzionato senza problemi ed il programma viene correttamente caricato. Tutto sembra funzionare bene insomma. Purtroppo non è così, qualsiasi sia la località che cerco, il programma mi riporta alle coordinate (0, 0) del globo.
Ad esempio,
qui ho cercato Roma ma mi ha portato dalle parti di Costa d'Avorio. E fa così con qualsiasi località io inserisca.
Potreste aiutarmi a far funzionare tutto correttamente, per favore?

prova così, chiudi google earth e dai
Codice: Seleziona tutto
gksu gedit /opt/google/earth/free/google-earth.desktop
e alla riga Exec= metti il cancelletto # all'inizio della riga e sotto incolla questa

Exec=sh -c 'export LC_NUMERIC="en_US-UTF-8" && /opt/google/earth/free/google-earth %f'
salva il file e chiudilo, poi edita questo
e nel file aggiungi questa
subito sotto la parte con i cancelletti # qui
# Function to find the real directory a program resides in
export LC_NUMERIC="en_US-UTF-8"
FindPath()
anche qui, fatta la modifica, salva il file e chiudilo e poi avvia google earth e riprova a cercare la località

Sembra stregoneria.
Mi spieghi in due frasette qual era il problema? Mi hai fatto modificare il comando eseguito dal lanciatore aggiungendo un "export qualcosa" che mi hai fatto ripetere anche all'interno del... dell'applicazione stessa, credo.
Sembra che fosse necessario richiamare il linguaggio inglese o qualcosa del genere...

si, carica il locale en nel comando, sinceramente non so bene il problema quale sia, però avevo avuto a che fare con il problema e mi ero salvato le operazioni che avevano portato alla soluzione....pare che sono tornate utili, ciao

ho provato adesso a reinstallare google earth 64 bit su kubuntu 16.04 e con quelle indicazioni funziona, sei sicuro di aver fatto tutto? altrimenti non saprei che dirti , a me funziona, ho cercato genova ed è andato lì

Io purtroppo non posso aiutare perché ho dovuto reinstallare Ubuntu 14.04 per avere i driver fglrx, che non fanno però apparire il globo terrestre in Google Earth.

il cancelletto di commento si riferisce alla prima riga o anche alle altre?
Comunque ho provato a commentarle e non commentarle e non funziona in ogni caso.
