ciao, non riesco a far funzionare il secondo monitor da quando ho aggiornato alla versione 7.10.
prima con la 7.04 vedevo i monitor identici, ora il secondo monitor è nero.
vorrei avere due monitor affiancati, o se non altro, almeno uguali.
il secondo monitor è un samsung synchmaster 203b, che oltretutto non compare nella lista dei monitor samsung nelle preferenze schermo.
ho già provato di tutto ma non ci riesco. qualcuno saprebbe dirmi come fare?
nella schermata preferenze di schermi e grafica, la possibilità di impostare un monitor come secondario è disabilitata.

Apri un terminale, loggati come root e postami l'output del comando xrandr, almeno cominciamo col vedere se riconosce entrambe le uscite video...

i monitor sono tutti e due connessi e accesi? ???
dall'output riconosce l'attacco per il secondo monitor ma non trova nulla, come se fosse spento o disconnesso...
Dopo esserti assicurato che tutto sia COLLEGATO CORRETTAMENTE e ACCESO aggiungi la riga

Una volta riavviato X (ctrl+alt+backspace) riesegui il login e in un terminale dai il seguente comando:

xrandr --output VGA-0 --left-of DVI-0

e vedi se funziona. Ovviamente se il monitor collegato alla VGA-0 si trova alla destra di quello collegato alla DVI-0 l'opzione del comando dovrà essere "--right-of". La funzione "SCHERMI E GRAFICA" ha dato problemi anche nel mio caso, ma così con un'ati x800xt e i driver open sources mi funziona tutto perfettamente...

ciao, ho seguito le tue indicazioni ma non ha funzionato.
allora ho ripescato un vecchio xorg.conf che avevo e lo modificato, in questo modo vedo i due monitor identici ma solo a 800x600.
io non so proprio che farci...

Sempre salvando una copia di backup togli tutte le risoluzioni da entrambe gli schermi che vanno da 640x480 fino a 832x624 (lascia da 1024x768 in poi per capirci) sia dalla sezione "monitor" che "screen", modifica il valore "Virtual 1792 1344" nella sezione "screen" con "Virtual 2048 768" e commenta (#) la riga Option "Clone" "on" nella sezione "ServerLayout". Una volta riavviato x da terminale rilancia il comando xrandr e controlla se viene simile al mio:

in questo modo vedo 2 monitor identici a 800x600, prima di arrivare alla schermata di login grafica mi esce la finestra delle proprieta' schermo
con il messaggio Running in low-graphics mode e mi chiede di scegliere il monitor che ho

una volta scelto e riavviato il file xorg.conf diventa cosi':

salve, ho anche io dei problemi con la radeon 9200 su ubuntu 7.10

vedendo che la dvi era collegata, ho messo la riga Virtual  2560  1024 nel file xorg....ho riavviato.

dopo ho lanciato il comando xrandr --output VGA-0 --left-of DVI-0 e il secondo monitor mi appare tutto sfarfallato e non si riesce a legger niente...e il primo monitor viene diviso a metà ^^"

dopo aver riavviato sembra esser ritornato tutto normale..cioè vedo nei 2 monitor la solita cosa (mi fa il clone)

dove sbaglio? qualche consiglio?

premetto che non so veramente niente di ubuntu...e di linux in generale
