Hai tolto la spunta ai driver del restricted manager?

Avevi installato solo quelli del restricted manager o ne avevi scaricati altri dal sito ATI (o Envy)?

allora, ho fatto questo :) nell'ordine:

- disinstallato i driver dal restricted manager togliendo la spunta
- riavvia
- scaricato i driver nuovi  dal sito ATI
- installati seguendo la guida all'inizio del thread
- non funzionavano
- disinstallato seguendo la guida all'inizio del thread
- provata l'installazione con ENVY
- ancora non funzionavano
- disinstallati i driver tramite ENVY
- rimessi i driver del restricted manager (che sono attualmente installati)

Ho modificato un passo nell'installazione dei driver :)

Per vedere se ora riesci ad installare questi driver, prova a fare così:

- togli la spunta dai driver con restrizioni e riavvia

- da terminale digita:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
per riconfigurare l'Xorg, avendolo quindi più pulito

- installa i driver 8.1 che hai scaricato seguendo la procedura presente in questa guida e controlla se ora funziona a dovere.

Aggiornata guida con l'inserimento dei metodi per la disinstallazione di eventuali driver installati precedentemente, passo necessario per poter installare con successo i nuovi driver :)

salve volevo chiedere una cosa riguardo alla scheda video ati ...

praticamente dopo la formattazione all'avvio il pc mi ha chiesto se volevo scaricare i driver che accelerano da usare con programmi grafici etc....dopo vari momenti di dubbio ho deciso di scaricarli ed installarli (ha fatto tutto adept dalla richiesta all'installazione ...)

la domanda che mi pongo è : questi driver sono funzionali o devo scaricarne altri?
[scheda video ati sapphire x1650 pro 256mb]

Quei driver dovrebbero essere quelli del Restricted Manager; non sono quindi gli ultimi, né supportano AIGLX :)

Ciao.. sono un nuovo utente sia del forum sia come linuxiano...
chiaramente avendo una scheda video ATI X1950 PRO ho cercato di installare i driver nuovi, ma non credo sia andato a buon fine :'(, il risultato di fglrxinfo è il seguente

display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.4 (2.1 Mesa 7.0.1)

però credo che i driver siano installati, perchè sotto Applicazioni ho ATI Catalyst Control Center....
il S.O. è vergine, nel senso che l'ho installato da poco e ancora dovevo installare la scheda video e i driver con restrizioni erano disabilitati..

qua il sistema è un pochetto instabile...può essere che siano quei driver???

Ciao a tutti, non so come ma dopo 3 giorni sono riuscito a configurare abbastanza bene la mia x700 con due monitor con risoluzione 1680x1050 e 1280x1024 in dual head.......

non riesco a fare partire compiz, mi da il seguente errore.... potete aiutarmi? grazie ( forse sto chiedendo troppo alla mia schedina!  :'( )

Chi è riuscito a installarli come li trova? Soprattutto con i giochi e firefox... c'e' stato un miglioramento? Ho letto che ci sono ancora problemi con il cambio utente giusto?

In che senso instabile?

Può darsi che siano quei driver, ma può darsi anche di no :)

Dipende dal tuo hardware e dai vari driver che hai installato; comunque per verificare che non sia della scheda video potresti provare ad aggiornare i driver a questi ultimi.

Se controlli per bene nel Catalyst Control Center ti viene segnato che hai 128mb di memoria, ma la tua scheda video non ne ha così poca!

Questo problema è stato riscontrato anche da altre persone...senti loro se hanno risolto (può essere comunque anche un bug dei driver stessi, che probabilmente verrà risolto con le versioni successive di questi driver fglrx).

Prova comunque a postare il tuo xorg.conf.

Se controlli per bene nel Catalyst Control Center ti viene segnato che hai 128mb di memoria, ma la tua scheda video non ne ha così poca!

hai ragione, infatti la mia scheda video ha 256mb...  :'(

Comunque non ti assicuro nulla...se vedi che hai problemi cancella la stringa inserita (BusID      "PCI:1:0:0")in questa sezione Device e riavvia.

Molto probabilmente c'è ancora qualche problema con i driver ATI, e questo si vede dal fatto che ad alcuni si installano senza problemi ed ad altri no :)

Gangi visto che sei poco esperto, prima di cadere nello sconforto, ti consiglio vivamente di scaricarti Envy, un'interfaccia grafica con cui installi (e automaticamente disinstalli quelli vecchi) facilmente gli ultimi driver ati o nvidia...solo con quella mi è partito il 3d sulla mia scheda...eppure avevo provato ogni sorta di guida prima, credimi.
