Di solito dal recovery non mi da problemi con i repository, ma adesso sono disabilitati e non succede niente neanche con apt-get update!

in tal caso, modifica il sources.list togliendo il cd e riabilitando i normali repo (attualmente dovrebbero essere commentati con una # davanti)

usa nano

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

ctrl+o salvi, ctrl+x esci

(p.s. quando cerchi un file: locate nomedelfile )

Però lo schermo scompare un attimo, mi ha cambiato il numero di desktop in basso a sinistra, solo che non vedo gli effetti, è forse mia inettitudine?

Edit:su compiz stanno impostati 4 desktop, e a me ce ne sono 12!

se passi da un desktop ad un altro non vedi un effetto di scorrimento?

p.s. poi come hai fatto? hai reinstallato oppure hai avuto successo con la reinstallazione di Xorg ?

No, nessun effetto, ma per effettuare il cambio clicco sul desktop piccolino col numerino, se mi sposto col mouse non mi cambia il desktop...

Ho avuto successo con la reinstallazione di Xorg (sei un grande!)

Allora, ulteriori novità:
Se disabilito la funzione "decorazione finestre" funzionano tutti gli altri effetti, purtroppo disattivando quella funzione, le finestre non si possono più spostare dal lato superiore dello schermo, non compaiono la x per chiudere la _ per abbassare etc, e quindi diventa impossibile usarlo.

Infatti nell'errore dice proprio libdecoration.so...
Come potrei fare?

Devo forse installare emerald??

Prima di fare una qualsiasi cosa, aspetta te, come hai detto all'inizio di questa storia: quando chiedi una cosa ferma le manine e aspetta..

devi mettere emerald in compizconfig come decoratore, così lo stesso compiz lo lancia al suo avvio.

E dove si mette? L'unica cosa che ho trovato in compizconfig è, cliccando su decorazione finestra, una riga vuota con "comando" in cui dice "Riga di comando strumento di decorazione eseguita se nessuna applicazione di decorazione è in esecuzione"
Ho provato a scrivere là emerald --replace ma non funziona

prova così. Riavvia, poi dai

compiz --replace

da terminale.

Vediamo che errori escono.

Eventualmente puoi anche dare

emerald --replace

da terminale.

Prima cosa: quale versione di compiz hai installato? quella dei repo di feisty è una cosa, compiz fusion un'altra...
