[Video] monitor lcd acel al1716 non va d'accordo con ubuntu

ciao, ho problemi con il riconoscimento del video dopo aver installato ubuntu che reputavo essere dati dalla scheda grafica, ma dopo mille prove e configurazioni ho cambiato scheda (da ati a nvidia) e il problema è uguale, ovvero non riesco ad ottenere una risoluzione ottimale (solo 800x600). il monitor in questione è un acer al1716, la cosa è dimostrata dal fatto che provando con un monitor molto vecchio la risoluzione è buona, come posso risolvere?

31 kHz a 81 kHz Orizzontale
56,3 Hz a 75 Hz Verticale

In rete ho trovato questi valori, non so se sono buoni, dovresti controllare nel manuale del monitor, o dietro il monitor stesso, se c'è, o in qualche altro posto....

Cmq, credo che mettendo a posto i valori nella sezione monitor di /etc/X11/xorg.conf potresti risolvere....

ora provo con quei valori, ma io dubito dipenda da quello, perchè nella sezione monitor non mi fa proprio scelgliere quel tipo di risoluzione....

ho lo stesso monitor e non ho avuto problemi con la risoluzione già dalla prima installazione. il pc però è a casa e non potrò mandarti il  mio xorg.conf fino a quando non rientro.

intanto però leggo sul tuo xorg.conf che stai usando i driver open. hai provato a mettere i driver nvidia col gestore dei driver con restrizioni?

grazie, molto gentile, darò un occhio al file volentieri. no, non ho provato, ma avevo lo stesso problema con una ati e facendone di ogni non sono riuscito a risolvere. nel caso mi daresti 2 dritte sul da farsi?

Intanto installa i driver nvidia dal gestore driver con restrizioni....

questo è il mio xorg.conf. ho una scheda ati, non una nvidia. in ogni caso vedo che le frequenze non sono specificate. le preferenze della risoluzione schermo di gnome mi danno una risoluzione 1280x1024 a 75Hz.

cmq io non conosco le ati, cerca nel forum, ma secondo me la tua risoluzione è giusta.....

la risoluzione, essendo uno schermo a 17", secondo me sta bene a 1280x 1024 ;)
comunque quello che intendevo è che probabilmente visto lo schermo in quetione non è necesario secificar i valori delle frequenze.
