io sono nuovo sul forum ma non sono questi i veri problemi..
ho provato in tutti i modi ad attivare gli effetti visivi. mi dice "desktop effetcs could not be enable"..
ubuntu me lo ha presentato un mago del computer che attraverso il terminale e una lunga serie di comandi mi ha fatto installare xserver e compiz.. ho provato io con la gestione di pacchetti sinapyc, ma niente.. non ci riesco proprio. ed è un vero peccato perchè li sogno davvero.. visto che vorrei abbandonare windows..
la scheda video non è male, non è nemmeno elevata di prestazioni ma non mi ha mai dato problemi vari.. potrebbe essere quello? cosa potrei fare per vedere se devo rinunciare all'idea di provare il mitico cubo desktop?

per favore aiutatemi...

che scheda video hai?perchè magari non hai l'acceleratore 3D attivato..

ciao, apri il terminale (Appicazioni > Accessori > Terminale) e dai il comando: poi posta qui l'output

da ubuntu non vi so dire, dovrei accedere a windows per il nome della scheda video...

mmm... con quella scheda video la vedo dura purtroppo.
Prova a postare l'output di per favore usa il tag code (simbolo #) quando posti l'output

spero di aver postato bene.. spiegami bene come fare se ho sbagliato, non voglio creare problemi..
e comunque grazie mille dell'aiuto. sei un grande!

Nessun problema, qui nessuno è "nato imparato": 

per postare correttamente l'output dei comandi devi utilizzare il tag apposito.
Quando scrivi il post basta cliccare sul tasto col simbolo del # e vedrai due tag [ code ] [ / code ] tra i quali dovrai mettere il codice che stai inserendo.
L'uso del code rende la discussione molto più leggibile.

Tornando al tuo problema, non so se questa cosa possa funzionare... ma proviamo:

crea una copia di backup dello xorg.conf attuale e funzionante (anche se senza effetti) che potrai ripristinare in caso di problemi ora installa i driver openchrome dai repository poi riavvia la macchina... e fai sapere
