[Risolto]avvio lento ubuntu 7.10

Salve a tutti ho appena finito di installare il nuovo 7.10 sul mio portatile asus z53u

volevo sapere cosa posso fare per rendere piu' veloce l'avvio del pc, ho levato da una riga di grub quiet e slash per vedere dov'e' che perde piu' tempo, c'e' un modo per fare stampare tutti gli errori o tutte quelle scritte su un file di testo cosi' ve le allego?


da quello che vedo rileva qualche errore nelle porte usb, error -110 ma io non ho inserito nessun mouse o altre periferiche,

Se vai in /var/log/ trovi tutti i log anche quello di caricamento.

Il problema nn riguarda la velocità dell'avvio in se ma piuttosto la rilevazione delle periferiche usb.

Nn ti posso aiutare ma posso dirti che il tuo problema è risolvibile perchè ho il tuo stesso errore e me lo sono procurato da solo!
Prima funzionava bene e tutto (ho un asus anche io), poi ho provato a velocizzare il mio gutsy modificando CONCURRENCY=shell in /etc/init.d/rc per far partire i processi in parallelo all'avvio. E' successo ovviamente che HAL partiva prima di dbus e nn trovandolo avviato dava errore impendendo il funzionamento di alcune periferiche (tra cui la scheda di rete). Problema risolto immediatamente spostando la priorità di avvio di HAL dopo quella di dbus in modo che venissero caricati in sequenza e nn in parallelo.
Ora HAL nn da più errori e la scheda di rete funziona ma all'avvio nn mi carica alcune periferiche USB... la videocamera integrata e il bluetooth integrato rallentando l'avvio, ecco i punti salienti del dmesg:

... stranamente il mouse funziona.... ed è l'unica periferica che vedo da lsusb...Puoi postare anche il tuo output dei comandi lsusb e dmesg?

Anche rimettendo CONCURRENCY=none il problema rimane, ho anche provato a reinstallare HAL e dbus ma niente... qualcuno ci aiuti! ::)

Mi autorispondo:

il bluetooth in realtà dovrebbe funzionare (anche se nn l'ho ancora testato), il problema nel dmesg riguarda solo la webcam (credo..)

il mouse funziona perchè è USB1.1 ed è quindi gestito da ohci_hcd e nn da ehci_hcd che gestisce le periferiche 2.0... come la webcam

la cosa stranissima che accade è che se rimuovo il modulo ehci_hcd e avvio camorama mi si accende il led della fotocamera!! (anche se nn riesco a vedere immagini...mentre prima di combinare casini funzionava tutto) e magicamente in lsusb riappare:

Ne deduco che il problema sia proprio in quel modulo... nn c'è modo di reinstallare/ripristinare questo driver?

Sarebbe interessante se postassi anche l'output di lsusb e lsusb -v

Ora ascolta fai questa prova, apri il terminale e dai il comando:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

in fondo al file aggiungi queste 2 linee:

blacklist ehci_hcd
blacklist ehci-hcd

salva e chiudi.

Riavvia. Controlla se ti da l'errore di prima (puoi vederlo anche con il comando dmesg una volta avviato ubuntu). Se te lo da togli il mouse e riavvia.
Controlla se ti da l'errore.

Morale della favola: se ti da l'errore con il mouse attaccato e senza mouse no siamo sulla stessa barca, per velocizzare la situazione puoi avviare il pc senza mouse e attaccarlo dopo.... oppure cancellare le linee che ti ho fatto aggiungere e attendere una soluzione definitiva.
Se con il mouse attaccato nn ti da errore puoi lasciare le linee in fondo al file blacklist ma sappi che nn potrai usare periferiche USB2.0 quindi scordati webcam.. modem usb....

ok, abbiamo la stessa webcam a quanto pare...
io ho risolto i miei problemi definitivamente mettendo in blacklist i moduli per l'usb2.0.. nn è proprio una soluzione ma per ora ci mette una pezza...tu prima puoi provare a installare i driver per la webcam Syntek, nn è complicato metterli su. Trovi le istruzioni qui http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Hardware/Webcam/Syntec

Prova a vedere se con i driver giusti la webcam ti da ancora errore al caricamento.... più di così nn posso aiutarti...
