[Xorg] Configurazione Monitor Acer al2671w <----Sono disperato

Ho un TV / LCD Acer al2671w e non riesco in nessun modo a configurare X per funzionare correttamente con il mio media center.

La Acer non rilascia dati tecnici su questo monitor se non la risoluzione massima ovvero 1280x768 ma non sono in grado di risalire alle frequenze corrette per farlo funzionare.

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

inutile dire che il monitor non viene riconosciuto e se lascio le impostazioni di default per la scansione orizzontale e verticale X viene visualizzato tutto sfasato ....

se utilizzo l'utility di gnome per rilevare il monitor plug & play ... il sistema non mi permette di confermare, ho provato quindi ad editare xorg.conf ed inserire manualmente le gamme di frequenze che vengono rilevate .... ma poi il sitema non riesce ad inizializzare gdm .....

non posto xorg.conf ... perchè non saprei quale postare .... ne ho circa 20 e nessuno di questi funziona in maniera minimamente decente .... per cui spero possiate consigliarmi qualche prova da effettuare di cui poi posterò i risultati ....

OS: MythBuntu (basata su ubuntu 7.10)

Sono ormai settimane che tento disperatamente di configurare il sistema, ho anche installato un SO Microsoft per cercare supporto, ma inutile dire che è stato tutto inutile ....

mmm ... nessuno riesce ad aiutarmi?

rileggendo il 3d mi sono accorto che ho dimenticato di aggiungere che sulla scatola del monitor è presente la scritta 1280x768 56-75Hz ma se in fase di configurazione video con dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg vado a specificare medium per impostare le frequenze del monitor non trovo questa precisa impostazione e non so proprio come andare a settare 1280x768 @ 75Hz del file xorg.config ...

ora come ora il sitema sta girando a 1280x768 @ 60 Hz ma la qualità video è parecchio scadente.

ma se provo a modificare le frequeze e le risoluzioni .... il sistema parte in bassa risoluzione

non per dire ma in xorg ci sono tutte le risoluzioni tranne quella che dovrebbe esserci.... (1280x768)

Lo so hai perfettamente ragione .... ma se lascio xorg.conf così come l'ho postato.... posso utilizzare lo strumento di gnome per impostare la risoluzione a 1280x768 a 60 Hz

Se invece edito il file e inserisco la frequenza 1280x768 .... dopo il riavvio (sia del gdm che del sistema stesso) X parte a 800x600 quando va bene.... e a 640x480 quando va male :-\

allora .... provo ad essere più preciso ....

se edito manualmente xorg.conf ed inserisco manualmente la risoluzione1280x768@75 e riavvio il sistema .... X parte a 640 x 480 e mi trovo il file xorg.conf modificato in questo modo ....

dopo aver installato questo sw ... se provo a riconfigurare X con il classico comando dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg ora il sistema mi rileva il display e anche le frequenze che prima non rilevava ...

è un po' lungo perchè ho fatto scrivere la gamma di frequenze nel file .... ma nonostante tutto la risoluzione che mi interessa 1280x768 non è presente .... e se la aggiungo manualmente torniamo al punto di partenza ....

con questo xorg.conf il sistema parte a 1024x768 60Hz, e posso impostarlo manualmente a 1280x768 60Hz ma la qualità dell'immagine è abbastanza scadente e continuo a non riuscire a risolvere il problema ...

Spero che con queste nuove informazioni qualcuno possa darmi una mano :-\

Edit:Dimenitcavo ...... la scheda ha anche un uscita DVI ed ilmonitor un ingresso DVI-D ma se collego il moditor con quell'interfaccia ... vedo solo la parte testuale mentre quando parte in grafica ..... Puff ... lo schermo si spegne ....
