pre-grub lento errori in hardy RISOLTO
Salve ragazzi, ho un problema che mi sta facendo impazzire ho installato ubuntu hardy e mi ritrovo con kernel 2.6.24-19-generic dopo i vari aggiornamenti ,ma penso che se non aggiornavo era meglio ,mi spiego meglio , l'avvio del mio toshiba satellite l20 e' rallentato notevolmente ma il grub vero e proprio lo svolge in 20 secondi , ma il pre-grub (scusate ma non conosco il termine tecnico)dura 2 minuti , qualcuno puo' aiutarmi ?Grazie in anticipo

nella directory /boot/grub è presente la vecchia situazione e cioè menu.lst.backup, se la editi con sudo gedit ritroverai le impostazioni antecedenti l'aggiornamento.dopo dovrai salvare il tutto con il nome menu.lst (sovrascrivendo ) ed il gioco è fatto !nagash ha scritto: grazie per aver risposto,ma scusami potresti essere un po piu' chiaro?

il problema e' che ho eliminato i vecchi kernel ,forse dovrei reinstallarli?e poi non capisco una cosa in menu.list/boot/gub ,trovo si, la lista , ma cosa dovrei salvare?

se hai eliminato i vecchi kernel, quello che ti ho detto non serve a nulla perchè anche ammesso che editi menu.lst.backup, il kernel presente al suo interno in realtà non lo farà partire, non essendo più installato nel sistema.

una cosa che ho imparato e che mi sento di consigliarti vivamente è che prima di combinare guai, vale sempre la pena di leggersi le guide messe a disposizione della community (good).

si, ho imparato a mie spese, ho installato la vecchia immagine ho provato l'avvio ma non cambia nulla il tempo di avvio rimane pressoche' identico, ho risistemato il tutto come prima e controllato con uname -r , tutto ok si vede che l'aggiornamento che mi provoca questo pre-grub cosi' lento sara' un altro. il problema e' sicuramente dovuto nel mount del disco che infatti inizia a lavorare solo dopo vari secondi dall'avvio, che sia un problema del bios phoenix?boo

Risolto ,anzi, risoltissimo,ho fatto una cosa molto intelligente e che avrei dovuto fare dal primo momento,ho disinstallato Ubuntu ed ho installato sul mio notebook una Debian etch ,direi stabilissima ,certo la pappina e' meno pronta, bisogna salare per bene, un po di prezzemolo,e ho un sistema operativo ma Operativo veramente, ah per l'avvio , sono sceso un po con i tempi, diciamo che dai 2 minuti e 30 secondi di Ubuntu ,con Etch sono sui 17 secondi compreso accesso automatico al login ,ma ancora non ho toccato i servizi all'avvio di default,ecco perche' magari stenta all'avvio,certo il cubo che gira non sara' facile che giri a primo colpo,e poi una cosa fastidiosissima non c'e' nella cartella ;Cestino, l'opzione svuota,li, visibile sull'interfaccia grafica,pensate si deve clicckare addirittura su file per trovare svuota cestino,un'atrocita',per il resto ,dico ,se non uguale , quasi uguale ad Ubuntu ,e, magari smanettando un po di piu' imparero qualcosa.Io,volevo risolvere su Ubuntu ,ma non ho mai saputo cosa risolvere ,la traccia:una lentezza imbarazzante all'avvio.
