[RISOLTO]Risoluzione monitor 22" wide screen

Ciao,

ho comprato un monitor Benq 22" Wide-screen, la risoluzione nativa 8 1680x1050, il mio pc (hardy heron con gnome) non lo riconosce automaticamente.
Se provo ad impostare la risoluzione da Sistema>Preferenze> risoluzione schermo, la massima disponibile è 1024x768.
Ho aperto lo Xorg.conf e ho modificato la voce "monitor" dove attualmente è scritto 1680x1050 (non ricordo cosa ci fosse prima) ma il risultato è il solito, che fare? cosa devo modificare?

nella sezione "monitor" leggo che si arriva fino a 1024x768 e in "screen" lo stesso,

e ho un monitor acer 22" 1680x1050 che funziona alla risoluzione giusta...

Ciao m.marani ho un problema analogo anch'io . Dalla notte al giorno mi è capitato di accendere il computer e ritrovarmi la risoluzione 800x600. Nel percorso di cui parlavi : Sistema>preferenze>risoluzione schermo mi dà 800x600 eppure lo schermo è lo stesso e la risoluzione del mio win non è stata modificata. Può essere un aggiornamento bacato ?grazie

quando ho installato i driver nvidia ha fatto e riconosciuto tutto da solo (good)

Ma posso installare i driver video per windows su ubuntu ? Il mio ubuntu funzionava senza driver aggiunti fino a stamattina

io li ho installati da Sistema->Amministrazione->Driver Hardware

Anch'io ho un 22" Wide-screen (Philips)
e la risoluzione deve essere 1280x800.

ci sono riuscito facendo due azioni:
1) questo il nuovo xorg.conf, ho cambiato la risoluzione nella sezione "screen" impostando 1680x1050, anche impostando nei vari "modes 1680x1050"... tutto il resto lo ha aggiunto lui al riavvio...

ho riavviato, ma il desktop si estendeva oltre i confini dello schermo..
ho digitato il comando "gksudo displayconfig-gtk"  e quindi ho impostato la risoluzione corretta e tutto è perfetto!! CHE SCHERMO!!

il problema è che al riavvio lo xorg lo trovo rimodificato e la risoluzione è impostata su 1024x768.. e devo rifare tutta la procedura :'(..
idee?
come faccio a fare in modo che la scheda video riconosca il monitor? il mio modello non compare nella lista di quelli che posso scegliere con il comando "gksudo displayconfig-gtk" ...

Io ho un Asus VW222 con risoluzione 1680x1050 ma pur copiando lo xorg di lamarsh mi aggiunge "na marea" di risoluzione ma non quella nativa del monitor; infatti non risulta nei vari modeline; e voi direte aggiungila (good) il problema e inserire tutto il resto dei paramtri della riga che non so cosa significano e dove reperirli :-\

Qualcuna mi sa aiutare??
Premetto che ho una Radeon 9250 e mi funzionano gli effetti 3D, solo sta benedetta risolulzione no riesco a settarla  >:(

se vedi nemmeno a me compare nei vari modeline, sinceramente non so proprio quello che ho fatto( ho letto vari post e poi ho iniziato a provare), ho solo scritto la procedura che ho utilizzato per risolvere il problema.. provato con i comandi che ho utilizzato io?

ps: adesso ad ogni riavvio è tutto ok..
