[Risolto] [Boot] 2 hard disk: ide1con Ubuntu * ide2 con XP....Come/Cosa fare x poter scegliere ?

Salve   :( spero ke  questo problema non sia nuovo ai molti nel forum e risolto. Bene.......
Se dal Bios  come  primo OS  che parte al boot metto  Ubuntu  o  XP..... non  c'e/fa  nessun problema,
parte quello ke io ho messo  nel Bios per primo. Ora il mio problema (se si puo chiamare cosi) è :
Non esiste un Progamma o settaggio  nel Pc in modo ke non devo sempre ........Terminare poi Spengere
Riaccendere,+Canc per entrare nel Bios x poi cambiare e mettere il Primo  hard-disk con il OS che voglio
usare? ................andando a fare anche una ricerca su Google mi sembra  di capire ke andare a mettere
le mani nel  BOOT.ini di xp non e buona cosa dato che se non si sa quello che si fa si combina dei guai e
solo +e+ casini di cui poi e difficile venirne a capo..io non sono un gran che con il Computer .

Ma vedi per caso la schermata di GRUB all'avvio? Da quel che ho capito ti tocca andare a settare dal bios, scrivi più chiaramente che così non capisco un cavolo...

Dovresti riuscire ad (re)installare GRUB sull'MBR, che dovrebbe trovare windows e tutto il resto.

Consiglierei dal bios di lasciare come era messo prima che installassi linux, sarei curioso prima che facci quelle due operazioni sopra cosa ti dice nel menu che hai lì..

EDIT: Per caso hai messo Windows ed Ubuntu in due hard disks diversi?

Allora devi editare il file menu.lst, che contiene i sistemi operativi da bootare, ma prima fai un backup:

Non dimenticarti di lasciare un invio alla fine, così che ci sia una riga vuota alla fine del file.

A quel punto dovresti essere riuscito ad inserire windows in mezzo alla lista dei sistemi eseguibili.

Ti consiglio di guardare sul wiki per dubbi e curiosità  .

Vorrei vedere il tuo file /boot/grub/menu.lst
Vai su Risorse->Computer->File system->boot->grub  apri il file menu.lst e copia-incolla il contenuto qui (usando il tag code #)
Forse hai installato prima Ubuntu e dopo Windows? Se invece hai installato prima Windows e dopo Ubuntu non dovresti avere problemi, anche nel caso di due dischi diversi. Ricordo che, tempo fa, anche io avevo due dischi diversi, ma comunque avevo il menù al boot per poter scegliere.

A me sembra proprio che manchi windows :O...

Consiglio di aggiungere in fondo le righe che ho scritto sopra, magari aggiungere un # dietro a hiddenmenu, così che venga scritto #hiddenmenu, così ti appare il menù, aumentare il timeout da 3 a 10, o 20, così hai più tempo per scegliere cosa bootare, e basta.

Anzi qua ti copio come il file dovrebbe essere per fare andare tutto:

Esatto smandrake  :) proprio quello che volevo dire io.
Aggiungo che per visualizzare all'avvio il menù di boot che ti faccia scegliere il sistema da caricare, dovresti mettere nel bios l'hd con ubuntu, se non sbaglio. Prova se poi non esce nessun menù, metti l'altro hd e vedrai che lo trovi  (yes)
Quella di map non la sapevo.

.................Ragazzi ! GRAZIE a VOI  ho risolto il problema  (mad) .
  dico la verita! ...........sudavo tanto quando seguivo alla lettera  ciò ke aveva scritto!... telperion
  alla prima  prova  nel salvare  mi ha vietato di farlo!  poi armato di santa pazienza.......2 prova
  è andato  NO! bene............ ma BENISSIMO!!!!!!! accettando i cambiamenti era il primo  passo.
  Quando ho spento e riavviato il computer . .......lì nell'ultima riga  è apparso  Windows XP dopo i
  Kernel di Ubuntu e ho evidenziato  xp ... (yes)  (yes) è andato tranquillo allo schermo aprendosi!

  Chiaro e limpido ke un ragazzino pure sarebbe stato capace di seguire, grazie1000.
  Vorrei tanto ridare ad altri almeno una piccola parte dell'aiuto ke mi è stato dato da voi e nn solo
  ma non sono cosi bravo e sicuro specialmente nel dare soluzioni certe ad altri.
