aiuto... ubuntu non rileva la partizione di windows vista (risolto)

ciao ragazzi...   questo è il mio primo post ... e non so neanche se è nella sezione giusta, cmq andiamo al sodo...
uso ubuntu da 2 anni circa... e su per giù ho capito come funziona... solo che ho un problema...
nel vecchio pc con windows xp andava tutto ok...
ma con il nuovo (comprato da 10 giorni) non mi rileva la partizione di windows vista
ho cercato varie soluzioni in giro ma niente.. 


potete aiutarmi ??

la versione di ubuntu è la 8.04

Dov'è la partizione ext3?
Il menu.lst lo devi aprire con un editor di testo, ad esempio:
gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst (usa i tag code, l'immagine del cancelletto, per postarlo)

EDIT: non ho capito, se windows parte e pure ubuntu, dov'è il problema?

e cmq funziona tutto perfettamente... il mio unico problema è riuscire a vedere la partizione di vista (dove ci sono tutti i miei documenti)

aprilo con gedit, ma non serve  a nulla:
gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

quindi vista si trovain sda1 giusto?
quello che leggo mi fa intuire questo:
/dev/sda1 /dev/sda1  *          1      38914  312569148    7  HPFS/NTFS

se è cosi intanto crea la cartella con il punto di mount:

sudo mkdir /media/Vista

gedit /etc/modules      »»»»»  vedi se trovi fuse, dovrebbe esserci, se no lo aggiungi, e poi
sudo modprobe fuse    »»»»    se già c'è non fare nulla


sudo mount /dev/sda1  /media/Vista -t ntfs-3g -o silent,umask=0,locale=it_IT.utf8


poi mettiamo il montaggio automatico:
sudo vol_id -u /dev/sda5  »»»»»»» in modo da ricavare l'UUID


sudo gedit /etc/fstab

aggiungi questo:

"risultato sudo vol_id -u /dev/sda5"  /media/Vista    ntfs-3g silent,umask=0,locale=it_IT.utf8 0 0


a questo punto riavvia e dovresti avere tutto montato all'avvio e funzionante.

io verrei vedere il comando che gli hai postato tu per intero:
sudo fdisk -l


sono perplesso, non ho visto ne la swap ne ubuntu.

se devi trovare l'uuid di sda1 devi mettere:
sudo vol_id -u /dev/sda1


ti da errore perchè non hai sda5.

ho provato invertendo il 5 con l'1 ... per come mi ha fatto notare shouldes ... ma non va lo stesso..
cioè non mi da piu errori... ho riavviato.. ed è tutto come prima


cmq ho istallato ubuntu da windows... tutto dall' hd con un emulatore (daemon tool)

Con la procedura che gli ho dato la monta in lettura e scrittura.

Quindi l'hai installata dentro vista, quindi ha ragione badìl, quindi non puoi montare vista.

Apri fstab e togli cosa hai aggiunto, così torna tutto come prima, poi per sicurezza riavvia e dai:

sudo rm -r /media/Vista  visto che non puoi montarci vista dentro.
