Ciao a tutti, sono nuovissimo, sia del forum, sia di Ubuntu...^^

ho installato ubuntu 5.10 sul mio caro amd k6-2 400 mhz

tutto ok apparte che non riuscivo a usare il mouse é_è ho fatto una ricerca nel forum, e ho trovato come fare ^^

ora però il problema è un altro...il monitor! infatti non vuole andare oltre ai 640x480 é_è eppure in xorg.conf segna anche le risoluzioni maggiori...come posso fare?

Il monitor è un Daewoo, non so il modello (non ci sta scritto :P) ma so che è un 17' e che forse nel nome c'è anche una "B" (veniva nominata dentro a xorg.conf, e su un sito con dei driver falsi [ -_- ] ci stava il modello "B" )

non so che altro dire...ah si, sotto win 2k è installato come "monitor generico", sarebbe molto più che sufficiente, mi basterebbe andare a 1024x768

in passato ho avuto il tuo stesso problema.
comunque per agevolare chi ti aiuterà ti conviene precisare che scheda video hai e postare xorg.conf(il percorso è /etc/X11/xorg.conf )
forse sono da impostare i valori corretti di hsync e vertrefresh ma poi si vede

E' esattamente come ha detto ciao, posta le cose che ti ha detto e potremo aiutarti meglio.
In piu' ti suggerisco di fare una ricerca sul forum con le parole chiave hsync e vertrefresh per trovare altri post con la probabile soluzione al tuo problema, e di cercare sul manuale del monitor quali sono le frequenze di refresh che dovrai impostare.

) mi dice G450...ma la cosa triste e che nn trovo il nome del modello del monitor é_è e non ho il manuale! :'(

prova a fare una ricerca su google inserendo il nome del monitor + hsync e vedi se ti da dei risultati
