[Internet] asus a6j

Salve a tutti,
                   da qualche mese sono un utente linux/ubuntu, dopo avere installato sul mio portatile asus a6j la versione 8.04.1. L'unico problema riscontrato come qualcuno saprà già è il mancato riconoscimento della webcam, ma pazienza...
Il vero problema invece è che appena sono passato alla versione 8.10, la scheda LAN non viene riconosciuta  :'( .
Qualcuno sa come risolvere il problema??? Grazie

la scheda è la stessa che ho io, sulla 8.10 funziona,e il driver è caricato.

a cosa ti connetti, ad un router o a un modem? sai l'indirizzo  del router o modem?

Col mio pc mi collego ad una rete fastweb con modem che permette a tre pc che ci sono in casa di collegarsi, non mi sono mai posto il problema in quanto tutto ha funzionato sempre perfettamente sia con windows che con tutte le versioni linux che ho provato, compresa ubuntu 8.04 che uso attualmente, persino nubuntu 8.12 funziona.I comandi che mi hai indicato non hanno sortito nessun effetto. Grazie per l'aiuto.

non ho capito che parametri ti ha preso network manager, ma in genere per farlo funzionare bisogna disattivare o eliminare
la connessione che fa lui  e impostarne una propria, magari prendendo quei parametri che ti ha impostato,
l'unica cosa,  ip address    dovrebbe essere della stessa classe del gateway, 

se il gateway  è  23.248.136.1        ip    dovrebbe essere    23.248.136.x    (x numero superiore ad 1)

se non riesci, mi sa che ti conviene installare  wicd  che funziona bene e fa le stesse funzioni di network manager
puoi scaricare il file  .deb  da qui

poi va su  synaptic e disinstalli network manager,  fai doppio clic su wicd e lo installi
al riavvio ti crea una icona in alto a destra, dove adesso c'è quella di network manager.
puoi gestire sia le connessioni wireless che ethernet.

il network manager nuovo sembra che abbia creato qualche difficoltà a qualcuno.

In effetti gli ultimi parametri che ti ho inviato sono ricavati dalla versione 8.04 che attualmente utilizzo; per quanto riguarda la sostituzione del network manager, dovrò di nuovo installare l'8.10. Appena fatto posto il risultato. ; (good) .Intanto grazie.

RISOLTOOOO! Ho installato la versione 8.10 e dopo la sostituzione di network manager con wicd la scheda di rete funziona perfettamente. Grazie tante fabisa  (rotfl) Questa si che è assistenza!
