sovraccarico cpu

E' da un pò di tempo che, quando accedo a you tube, per esempio, o quando avvio emule, il computer comincia ad emettere il classico suono del sovraccarico della cpu. Occorre tener presente che io con emule attivato riuscivo ad andare su internet e visionare i filmati di you tube, quindi da un certo momento in poi è accaduto qualcosa che sovraccarica la cpu.
Sono andato nel monitor di sistema e gli unici processi attivi sono: Xorg; gnome system monitor il quale a volte raggiunge l'ottanta per cento.
Ad esempio in questo momento sto vedendo un video da you tube e sono sul monitor di systema, guardo la cronologia della cpu e mi dice che la cpu è al 100%.
Attivo ho Xorg che oscilla tra diversi valori, firefox che è al 42% e poi monitor di sistema. Altri processi non sono attivi nonostante abbia attivato la voce visualizza tutti i processi.
Da cosa dipende il sovraccarico della cpu?

installa htop, il monitor delle risorse è avido di cpu, poi riprova. Il mulo è pure lui avido ed i siti in flash, ugualmente avidi....

Ho notato che il monitor è avido di cpu, ma il punto è che il computer emette il suono del sovraccarico cpu prima che io veda il monitor.
avviene questo: accendo il computer, attivo amule e dopo pochi secondi comincia il bip del sovraccarico; ma non è sempre stato così, ho sempre attivato amule ed ho sempre lavorato contemporaneamente al suddetto programma.
cosa può essere successo?

salve! ho inviato i risultati deo comandi che mi hai suggerito perchè non so cosa devo controllare.
Ho riprovato ad attivare solo amule ma il problema del sovraccarico persiste; si maniesta anche con i video di you tube.

Poi riavvia e
Digita:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
Infondo alla riga che finisce con quiet e splash aggiugi acpi_pm_good.

Poi riavvia ancora e vedi come va....
