TORNARE A UBUNTU 8

Salve, ho installato Ubunu 9 e come è ormai evidente per tutti, ha molti problemi e nnon potendo + usare il portatile perxhè incanddescente, vorrei tornare a Ubuntu 8 per vedere come va. Potrei tornare alla versione precedente senza formattare? Un tipo di aggiornamento al contrario xò!!!???

Se e' evidente a tutti non lo so..magari puoi spiegare quale e' il tuo (o i tuoi problemi) in maniera piu' dettagliata
Non puoi fare un downgrade perche' il software che hai installato e' piu' recente di quello presente nei repository della 8.10..ed apt-get ha solo l'opzione "upgrade" e non "downgrade".

Per fare un downgrade avresti dovuto salvare tutti i pacchetti in una lista, prima di aggiornare alla 9.04..quindi, se non lo hai fatto, puoi solo reinstallare da zero la 8.10

AH ok, allora fotmatto che è meglio.
i miei problemi sono gli stessi delle altre persone che scrivono su questo forum e vale a dire surriscaldamento continuo fino a 80 gradi e audio assente. ho paura che il mio hp pavillion dv5 1110 el si rovini con queste temperature elevate. tanto sono ormai 10 giorni che cerco di seguire istruzioni ma non risolvo mai nulla. ;)

ho paura che il mio hp pavillion dv5 1110 el si rovini con queste temperature elevate.
Ci sono notebook strutturati per supportare temperature superiori. Fino a quando non hai un punto di riferimento non puoi sapere se la T° e' alta o bassa. IL punto di riferimento e' in /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/trip_points. In questo files sono evidenziate le T° critiche oltre le quali il sistema va in protezione.

Ti faccio un esempio: io ho un cesso di DV4 con T° dei due core sui 50° circa (abito all'equatore) ed il case sui 48. Il mio file trip_points dice questo
critical (S5):          107 C
hot (S4):                105 C
passive:                100 C: tc1=2 tc2=5 tsp=10 devices=CPU0
active[0]:              50 C: devices= FAN
Fino a 105°, quindi, tutto a posto. E ti assicuro che da 80 a 105 sembra poco ma in realta' non lo e'

beh non penso sia il mio caso, avevo Vista e un surriscaldamento del genere non l'ho mai avuto neanche una volta, con ubuntu ogni giorno a tutte le ora.

Abbiamo scoperto che la t non e' quella del case ma del processore, e l'applet del pannello non riceve le giuste info dal modulo coretemp (hai un core duo intel?)
Se ti vuoi togliere il dubbio per la T del case ti basta dare

Per la T del processore ci pensiamo dopo..intanto hai scoperto che Firefox impegna la cpu con conseguente surriscaldamento

C'e' evidentemente un problema con l'acpi e quindi la temperatura, ma ancora non riesco a capire se e' solo un problema di lettura errata o se quel valore di 80° e' veritiero.

Prova a riavviare il servizio HAL

ALlora posta tutto l'output di dmesg (quotato come hai fatto fino ad ora perche' e' lungo)
Per abbreviare i tempi, se il problema si e' presentato con la 9.04, potresti avviare il sistema scegliendo il vecchio kernel (quello della 8.10) sempre che tu l'abbia ancora installato (all'avvio, prima di GRUB premi ESC per entrare nel menu e scegliere il vecchio kernel)

Bhe e' un po' vago..io non ho mai avuto questo problema pur usando ubuntu dalla 4.10 (ottobre 2004). Bisogna sempre valutare bene ogni singolo caso (anche perche' i computer hanno hardware diverso)

Nel modulo generico thermal. L'unica cosa che puoi fare e' cambiare kernel, oppure aspettare l'aggiornamento di quello che hai attualmente. In se il problema e' risolvibilissimo ma bisogna avere una certa preparazione tecnica. Se di queste cose non sai nulla allora cancella la 9.04 e installa la 8.10, che ha un kernel diverso, ma non ti posso dire se troverai lo stesso problema.

E' come se invece che cambiare "un pezzo" del tuo sistema tu cambiassi tutto il sistema. Operazione che non condivido ma che forse in questo caso, sempre forse, potrebbe risolvere.
