Aiuto. Sto impazzendo!!!!! >:(
Premetto che sono un principiante di Ubuntu ma son due ore che provo a modificare uno script per abilitare il 3d della scheda video e non riesco proprio a scalfirlo.
L'installazione del driver son riuscito ad eseguirla o almeno da come è ripartito il sistema a 1024x768 quando prima era a 1280x1024 ma poi non sono riuscito a combinare più niente.
In definitiva avrei la necessità di riportare la risoluzione a 1280x1024 e soprattutto riuscire a portare a termine i passaggi menzionati nel readme dei driver che riporto di seguito. Grazie

  2.1  edit the script file /usr/bin/compiz, find the line:
WHITELIST="nvidia intel ati radeon i810"
  2.2  modify it to:
WHITELIST="nvidia intel ati radeon i810 via"
  2.3  restart x-server ("Ctl+Alt+Backspace) after "./vinstall" and reboot finished

Configuration:

  Install tool "vinstall" will automatically do some part of
  configuration, and below is the detailed manually configuration.

      In the Section "Device", make sure the driver is "via".

      Use "man xorg.conf" to get general Xorg configuration information

  3.3 Change the Resolution & BPP

      3.3.1 Change BPP

        In the Section "Screen",

        DefaultDepth xx

        Note: xx can be 8, 16, 24, 32

      3.3.2. Change Resolution

        In the Subsection "Display" of Section "Screen",

        For example, change to the resolution 800x600 of 32bpp

            Depth 24
            Modes "800x600"

ma dov'è il problema ..... non si capisce cosa vuoi dire
forse non riesci a salvare le modifiche sul file xorg.conf o cosa???

Infatti poi ho capito come fare ma non riuscivo a modificare il file compiz xkè non ero a conoscenza del comando per poterlo fare.
Una volta venuto a conoscenza di sudo gedit mi son sistemato tutto nel giro di cinque minuti.

Ora il problema è un'altro...... quando vado ad abilitare gli effetti visivi normali sulle preferenze d'aspetto prima di configurare la scheda mi dava appunto un messaggio d'errore mentre ora mi fa lo schermo completamente bianco.
Perchè? Chi mi può illuminare?
