Webcam bassa risoluzione

Ciao a tutti!

Ho comprato dai cinesi una splendida webcam hd 720p l'ho collegata a ubuntu ed è stata riconosciuta subito e funziona alla grande

. Peccato che ci sia solo un problema la risoluzione massima è 640x480 (collegata alla scheda madre) ecco qualche informazione:

Se trovo i driver si ci avevo pensato speriamo sia un problema di driver... Comunque nel caso ci ho perso 9 € quindi non è importante.

Stessa identica webcam, mi ha graffiato il monitor perché ha un sistema a clip indecente, da una 12MPx mi aspettavo molto di più, ho giocato con la regolazione del focus senza ottenere quello che mi aspettavo.
Non l'ho provata con windows ma non credo proprio occorra nessun driver per vista o seven, essendo una webcam UVC.
Con skype e cheeese va senza nessuno sbattimento, la colleghi e funziona.

C'era con 7€ quella 16MPx, questa costava di più e mi aspettavo fosse meglio, non che in realtà fosse una 0,3MPx.
Mi sa che è l'ultima volta che compro roba dai cinesi.

Uhm... Sicuri che sia davvero una 0.3mp? Non c'è un modo per verificarlo oltre a vedere la risoluzione massima? Magari dall'output di lsusb...

Da quello che ho visto è una 640x480 effettivi, con l'interpolazione potrebbe arrivare ai magici 12 megapixel.
Marchiata Aveo la spacciano per 3 Megapixel.
La mia è quella tutta di metallo specchiata, quindi non è neppure simile esteticamente a quella marchiata Aveo con lo stesso id vendor e id product.

Io ho provato a fare una videochiamata skype (ubuntu 11.10), ma l'interlocutrice aveva una chiavetta della 3 e sta caxxo di webcam fa un traffico dati enorme, le è partita la connessione 5 volte e il suo video mi arrivava a scatti.
Come pro, il mio video mi ha detto che si vedeva benissimo a schermo intero, sembrava un DVD come qualità.
Come contro sto rimontando la trust che mi permetteva di parlare fluidamente con quelli che non hanno l'adsl, anche se si vede uno schifo.

È una webcam standard UVC, non serve nessun driver con vista e seven.
Non ho nessun cd driver in dotazione.

Lo stesso vale per l'altra roba cinese, esempio ho preso la chiavetta hd-tv usb e windows mi ha scaricato e installato automaticamente il driver, funziona tranquillamente con windows media center.
La roba cinese è talmente standard da non richiedere i cd di installazione.

Non c'è nulla da inventarsi, se a livello hardware è penosa mica la puoi far diventare decente via software.
