ciao!!!
ho provato a a bloccare bluetooth e wlan con i comandi che mi hai scritto ma non mi pare sia cambiato molto... tutto come prima...
adesso ho rimessso tutto come prima... non so che dire...
??? ???

Ti faccio notare una cosa che probabilmente ti è sfuggita :-[

è vero che hai bloccato completamente il wireless e il bluetooth, ma hai bloccato a livello hardware anche il modulo wwan, il che ti rende senz'alcuna ombra di dubbio impossibile stabilire una connessione con il modem (yes)
Evidentemente devi sbloccare la periferica tramite apposito 'tastino' ;)

P.S. Mi incuriosisce molto questo phy0, non lo conosco :-\

Non credo sia molto attinente

Invece dala guida che avevi segito all'inizio:

For anybody who is trying this on Ubuntu 10.04 on Sony P (VPCP118KX), I haven't gotten it to work, but here are my results so far:

1) The instructions above refer to C:\ProgramData\QUALCOMM\QDLService2k\Options2kSony.txt, but that file doesn't exist.

2) This link here suggests they're located in a different location:

3) Specifically, it says to copy the following into /lib/firmware/gobi:
C:\Program files\QUALCOMM\Images\Sony\0\UQCN.mbn
C:\Program files\QUALCOMM\Images\Sony\UMTS\amss.mbn
C:\Program files\QUALCOMM\Images\Sony\UMTS\apps.mbn

4) After that I followed all the instructions in the above post and everything seemed to compile and work fine.

5) However, when I went to restart, there was a huge delay where it'd first log me in to a terminal, but then spontaneously switch to X Windows after a few minutes.

6) Needless to say, the Verizon option didn't appear as a Mobile Broadband option.

7) Removing qcserial from /etc/modules didn't have the expected effect of making the delay go away.

Looking closer at my logs, it looked like the delay's end coincided with the following:

Feb 5 14:43:17 microbob init: udevtrigger post-stop process (516) terminated with status 1
Feb 5 14:43:17 microbob udevd[350]: worker [352] unexpectedly returned with status 0x0100
Feb 5 14:43:17 microbob udevd[350]: worker [352] failed while handling '/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-6/1-6:1.1/ttyUSB0/tty/ttyUSB0'

9) On the theory that it was still trying to load the Gobi drivers but failing (taking a long time in the process) I renamed /lib/firmware/gobi to /lib/firmware/gobi.dead (ensuring that it can't find the files and doesn't try to load them). This made the delay stop.

10) So, no Verizon auto-loading, but it still works fine when I boot into Windows 7. So no-harm/no-foul, but a bit scary there for a second.

Based on the above, can anybody suggest what might be going wrong? IS it reasonable to think that upgrading to 10.10 might help?

alcuni utenti hanno segnalato il tuo stesso problema con il modulo wwan e hanno lo stesso errore in syslog, non so se phy0 c'entri con questo problema :-\

You should now re-load the usbserial driver (fixme: why?)
rmmod qcserial usbserial
modprobe usbserial vendor=0x05c6 product=0x9225

If everything went well, you'll get /dev/ttyUSB0, 1 and 2 (/dev/ttyUSB2 is the modem itself)

Io ho soltanto /dev/ttyUSB0 e non 1 e 2.... può c'entrare?

in compenso ho scoperto una cosa che mi pare strana...
in alcuni post dicono che per far funzionare la connessione con gobi loader occorre avviare windows 7 e poi riavviare in pc con ubuntu
ho provato e, a parte che non funziona lo stesso, mi ritrovo il numero Qualcomm cambiato da 9224 a 9225 con pure problemi su qcserial (vedi sotto) ed anche il syslog mi dice che usb 1.1.4 è sconosciuto (vedi più sotto)

Boh, forse hanno cambiato il firmware con l'aggiornamento di windows :-\
In questo caso forse dovresti disinstallare, ricompilare e reinstallare tutto quello che hai compilato (anche se per la verità almeno ora hai imparato e sai come farlo) :'(

P.S. Ma in irc non ti hanno risposto oppure non hanno saputo darti risposte attendibili? ???

Ok, se vogliamo cercare di venire a capo di questa situazione e dopo qualche tentativo non si riesce ad ottenere supporto in #ubuntu-it, terapia d'urto: canale specifico #linux-it e il canale internazionale #ubuntu (se sei in grado) sempre su Freenode (yes)
A parte la procedura (corretta) che abbiamo seguito, ciò che ci ha portato fino a 7 pagine di discussione è il fatto che ancora sono pochi gli utilizzatori di ubuntu (sopratutto italiani) che possiedono e utilizzano questo modulo, e quindi sono state esposte poco sul web queste problematiche (compresa la mancanza di documentazione), di conseguenza risolvere il problema è più faticoso rispetto ad altri problemi con l'hardware più diffusi, troppo pochi se ne sono occupati (yes)

Però se ci riesci sei un grande e avrai fatto una cosa straordinaria, da vero pioniere

Ciao,
io sono uno dei fortunati che è riuscito senza problemi a far funzionare il modem 3g integrato.. anche se poi di fatto, dopo la prova iniziale, non l'ho mai più usato..
quello che avevo fatto io per far funzionare il modem è semplicemente:

1) installare il pacchetto gobi-loader (dal software center)
2) copiare in /lib/firmware/gobi/ quei 3 file presi da windows
3) riavviare (o fare sudo rmmod qcserial && sudo modprobe qcserial)
4) cliccare sull'icona del network-manager, e creare una nuova connessione di banda larga mobile

riassumendo un po' la discussione, se non mi sono perso qualche passaggio, la situazione di el_topo dovrebbe essere simile..

1.a) hai installato gobi-loader dai sorgenti, poi l'hai disinstallato
1.b) hai installato gobi-loader dal software center
2) hai copiato i file in /lib/firmware/gobi/
3?) non ho capito se hai il modulo qcserial originale o se lo hai ricompilato... (io avevo lasciato quello originale)

comunque proverei a fare una cosa:
1. scaricare una iso di ubuntu, creare una chiavetta usb live, e avviare dalla chiavetta usb
2. quando sei nella ubuntu live copi i file nella cartella /lib/firmware/gobi/ e installi gobi-loader dal software center
3. dal terminale dai sudo rmmod qcserial && sudo modprobe qcserial
4. aspetti qualche secondo e vedi se dall'icona di network-manager puoi creare una nuova connessione di banda larga mobile
in questo modo sei sicuro che il malfunzionamento non dipenda da qualche pasticcio fatto in precedenza

altra cosa:
in uno dei link di questa discussione ho visto che il modem "ricorderebbe" lo stato acceso/spento da windows.. non so se sia effettivamente così, né come funzioni la cosa, ma.. nel dubbio potrebbe valer la pena provare:
1. avviare windows
2. accendere il modem da quel popup di risparmio energetico che ti dovrebbe uscire
3. riavviare su ubuntu senza spegnere il modem
4. provare a connettersi da ubuntu

spero che una di queste cose possa risolvere il probema

niente da fare, ho provato ma non funziona nemmeno dalla live, evidentemente al di là dei miei pasticci ci sono proprio delle difficoltà, magari il problema nasce dal kernel 1.38.10 che ho installato in lucid... chissà....
comunque grazie infinite per la tua disponibilità... e naturalmente accetto altre idee
