[RISOLTO] Ubuntu 10.10 e scheda Seriale RS232 su PCI

Ciao Ragazzi !
ho una scheda PCI con uscita seriale, ma ubuntu non la vede.
La scheda è: MANHATTAN model 154475

nella confezione dovrebbero esserci pure i driver per linux, hai verificato il contenuto del cd?

c'è la cartella linux dove contiene 3 file txt ( io però non ci capisco un H ad esserne sincero ! )
se vuoi vedo di farti avere questa cartella, così magari tu ci capisci qualcosa.....

servirebbe un mouse seriale per fare i test
puoi collegare che invii dati alla porta seriale senza bisogno di software per verificare se essi arrivino?

No, di seriale non ho proprio niente.... aparte questa pocket Viewer che vorrei usare.....
Non è possibile fare una sorta di PING ( come per gli ip ) ?
Se vuoi, qui ti ho caricato quello che c'è nel cd come driver......

non si va lontano senza periferiche seriali per provare se funzioni.

Puoi simulare una periferica seriale semplicemente cortocircutando il pin 2 con il pin 3
In questo modo tutto quello che invii sulla seriale telo ritrovi sul buffer in ingresso della stessa (hai un echo via hardware!)

la tua scheda madre quante seriali ha?
prima di rispondere nessuna prendi il manuale della scheda madre e controlla, in genere le hanno TUTTE, solo che gli manca il cavo verso l'esterno.
se non le trovi controlla sul bios.

Una sola, COM1 c'è un connettore.... ma come dici tu, non ha uscita all' esterno !

quelle evidenziate in rosso sono le due porte seriali sulla mobo; quelle con IRQ 17 sono della scheda PCI.

se l'intuizione di magozurlinux e` quella giusta configura su virtualbox (altro topic) la porta /dev/ttyS1 o /dev/ttyS2 e prova il device per il quale hai aperto questi due topic.
