[Boot] Avvio imprevedibile su Ubuntu 10.04

Sul mio vecchio PC (Pentium 4, 512MB di RAM, 60GB HardDisk) ho installato Lubuntu 10.04 32 bit.
Spesso e volentieri però incappo in questo problema: una volta su 3, diciamo, quando accendo il PC, la macchina si avvia, ma invece di mostrarmi la schermata di log-in, il tutto entra in una sorta di stand-by.

Schermo spento.
Nessuna luca accesa nella CPU.
Ventola in azione.

Come fosse in standby, appunto.

Ravvio e tutto funziona bene.

Tuttavia il problema si presenta piuttosto spesso e non so a che possa essere dovuto...

Succedeva una cosa simile anche a me, anche se non so a cosa sia dovuto nel tuo caso  :-\
Quando avviene questa cosa posta il file Xorg.0.log qui sul forum all'interno del tag 'code' o allegalo al topic

è quello che ho pensato anch'io adesso  (yes) Per le sessioni precedenti o c'è l'Xorg.log più vecchio o il syslog 

Da terminale digita:
