problema disco rigido.

ciao ragazzi, ho un problema con un disco rigido, nel disco c'è installato il sistema operativo windows 7 e da un po di tempo ha smesso di funzionare, collegandolo su ubuntu con adattatore sata-usb ricevo questo messaggio:
con il gestore di dischi non viene visualizzato, spero non sia da buttare. se sapete aiutarmi grazie in anticipo..

Failed to read NTFS $Bitmap: Input/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.
