la trovi in file system
controlla che ci sia la cartella partial e postami schermata
/var/lib/apt/lists

Eccoti la schermata, ma non è una cartella, bensì un file o sbaglio?

dai
sudo mkdir /var/lib/apt/lists/partial
e da terminale rifai l'update

Si, l'avevo già fatto io

Ho dato da terminale sudo nautilus, poi sono arrivato nella cartella incriminata, ho cancellato il file partial e ho creato la cartella partial

vale la pena di provare
La guida è per Debian squeeze / testing ma penso proprio
che vada bene ugualemente che versione - kernel ubuntu hai?
io l'ho usata e funziona ed ho la testing (Kernel 3.0 etc...
Avevo provato anche ha installare i driver da synaptic e da console
ma al riavvio mi mandava in palla tutto con sfarfallio e impossibilità di entrare
in console..) mentre con questo
ha generato xorg ha installto tutto e va a meraviglia
Se non ti funziona (ma non credo)
prova anche a fare l'installzione scaricando i driver direttamente dal sito della NVIDIA

NB Prima disinstalla tutto quello che hai installato in precedenza

Purtroppo al riavvio, al situazione è sempre la stessa

Tempo fa ho provato a scaricare i driver dal sito della nvidia ed a installarli, ma non me li vuole installare.
