Boot 12.04 - 64bit ... attesa eccessiva eth0

SAlve,
l'installazione è pulita e non è un aggiornamento. Il boot rispetto all'inizio mi sembra che si sia allungato. Indagando un attimo ho visto che c'è una pausa durante il caricamento:
nel dmesg:
passano quasi 12 secondi a cercare il link eth0. è normale?
La scheda è :
lspci -vvs 0a:00.0
In origine il kernale caricava il modulo r8169, ora ho installato il corretto r8168 ma non è cambiato nulla.
Suggerrimenti? Potrebbe essere disabilitata la ricerca dell'eth0 in quel punto? e perchè la cerca?
