per quanto riguarda alsamixer, per l'evare "l'automute" lo devo fare direttamente da alsamixer esatto?
Per quanto invece riguarda l'aggiornamento, io ho ancora i pacchetti che avevo scaricato in precedenza (Mi riferisco ad "Alsa"), devo dire che, dopo quella procedura son rimasto taumatizzato, sinceramente ho un pò paura ad installarli, non vorrei dover incasinare tutto come era stato fatto a tal punto che, non mi rilevava manco la scheda audio più. Ti chiedo una cortesia enorme, se dici che bisogna aggiornare alsa, ti prego mi linki tu il pacchetto da scaricare e così poi mi ridici la procedura di installazione passo passo? Da solo non farò nulla, a parer mio ho già combinato abbastanza casini..

Sì l'automute lo devi levare direttamente da alsamixer.
Apri alsamixer, poi con le frecce vai sulla colonna automute e premi il tasto m così che la scritta diventi disabled
premi il tasto ESC per uscire e riavvia
A questo punto fammi sapere se intanto cominci a sentire qualcosa. Poi passeremo ad aggiornare alsa

Ciao, Purtroppo non sento nulla, avevo già fatto in precedenza ma niente...se vado sulle preferenze dell'audio mi compare la finestra che posto di seguito:

Allora prendiamo in esempio la guida del wiki
cercherò di postarti tutti gli output fino a un certo punto poi dovresti seguirmi meglio perchè l'altra volta combinai casini seguendo questa guida non sono capace
allora andiamo con il primo output:
Per quanto riguarda il modello della scheda audio (per individuarne il modello) digito nel terminale il seguente comando:

Aprire con un editor di testo il file HD-Audio-Models.txt.
Cercare nel file la sezione relativa al chip della scheda audio.
Ad esempio se cerchiamo il chip ALC260 si troveranno le seguenti righe:

nella colonna di sinistra sono presenti i modelli di scheda audio, mentre in quella di destra i modelli di portatile sui quali viene montata.
Leggere tutta la sezione relativa al chip e provare a cercare l'unica scheda più simile alla propria. Ad esempio se si possiede un portatile è possibile scegliere «acer».
Aprire con un editor di testo ed i privilegi di amministratore il file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf.
Incollare la seguente riga alla fine del file:
options snd-hda-intel model=MODELLO
sostituendo «MODELLO» con il modello della propria scheda audio, nel nostro esempio era «acer».
Riavviare ALSA digitando il seguente comando:
sudo alsa force-reload
in pratica forse l'altra volta non sono riuscito a modificare il file come avrei dovuto e, inoltre forse ho aggiornato alsa e li poi ho combinato pasticci alla grande..per ora magari vediamo sto fil da modificare...

Maròòò non ci credo.... Ascolta...se sento l'audio vuol dire che è tutto ok, ora ti chiedo prima di continuare eventualmente se, possiamo installare tutti i codec audio e video...magari poter controllare prima e installare i mancanti, ad esempio per ascoltare gli mp3, mp4 i formati wav, e poi i video dvx, dvd ecc ecc Mi dici come fare?

Mi pare di aver capito che hai un acer, beh dovresti vedere se in elenco (dei vari modelli) trovi Acer e quindi metter un modello che più si avvicini al tuo.

Diciamo che il fatto che l'audio funzioni è intanto un primo grande passo. Sono daccordo con te aspettiamo prima di modificare alsa (anche se prima o poi andrà fatto).
Poi riguardo ai vari codec, innanzitutto dipende da cosa vuoi usare per ascoltare i files: di applicazioni ce ne sono tante.
Ad esempio banshee o amarok o vlc per citare dei player e totem per i filmati
Prova ad usare Ubuntu Software Center (se ce l'hai) per vedere cosa ti propone poi scegli quello che ti sembra meglio in base ai formati che vuoi ascoltare
Io attualmente ho banshee e GNOME MPlayer per l'audio e totem per i video. Ogni applicazione ha poi i suoi codec per consentirti di sentire vari tipi di file musicali o video.
Attento però che non è detto che tu riesca a sentire tutti i formati audio con un unico player
Dovresti avere già di default banshee e Totem.
Se vuoi fare una prova suggerisco GNOME MPlayer

Prima di tutto mi sento in dovere di chiederti come vanno li le cose, tutto ok? Le cose iniziano ad andar meglio?
Poi per quanto riguarda ubuntu, beh, non ho ubuntu software center, la mia distro anche se è basata su ubuntu 10.04 si chiama Backtrack 5 r2. Per quanto riguarda i codec:
Mi piacerebbe usare Rhythmbox (ho già installato) ma non mi funziona. Nel senso che, da li mi piacerebbe ascoltare le stazioni radio che sono impostate già di default solo che quando faccio doppio click su un link di una delle stazioni radio non succede nulla e accanto al link mi compare un simboletto di divieto. Non so se questo dipenda dai codec mancanti, eventualmente mi potresti dire quali codec installare per poter ascoltare la radio?
L'altro problema che noto con Rhythmbox è che, quando aggingo dei file non li vedo poi in Rhythmbox sembra che non abia aggiunto nulla, ho provato più volte ma niente da fare. Non è poi la prima volta che uso Rhythmbox quindi mi piacerebbe risolvere prima questo piccolo inconveniente.
Ho anche installato Amarok, quello volevo usarlo per gli mp3 per ascoltare la mia musica, din norma i formati ch ascolto sono o wav o mp3.
Infine per quanto rigurada i video, noto che, se vado su youtube i video non riesco a vederli poichè manca flash player.
Poi non so vorrei poter visualizzare i dvx e i dvd. tutto quà.
Se mi dai indicazioni e aiuto magari visto che sei online posso risolvere già ora.

ahh un'altra cosa, ho notato che, ogni volta che avvio il sistema, devo portare al max la regolazione del volume, di default lo vedo sempre a zero, ricordo (in precedenza prima di combinare tutto quel bordelloe>) di aver trovato un comando dove mi impostava definitivamente il livello del volume e quindi, a ogni riavvio non dovevo far il solito ambaradan di portare il livello al max. Mi diresti pure come poter risolvere questo inconveniente?

Ho installato vlc ma non riesco a vedere i filmati e nemmeno ascoltare i file audio. Quando apro un file (sia video o un file audio) lo apro con vlc ma non succede nulla, non ho messaggi di errore ma non accade nulla. La stessa cosa con i filmati con estensione .flv.
Per quanto riguarda youtube, forse ho risolto, quando andavo a visualizzare un video da youtube, avevo un riquadro grigio con il simbolo in alto a sinistra di flashplayer, ho cliccato sulla finestra grigia, mi è comparsa una finestra con selle scritte indecifrabili, ho cliccato su "Accept" (credo fosse un contratto di licenza) e allora adesso riesco a visualizzare i video da youtube.
L'unico che funziona è Gnome MPlayer. Installato anche quello quest'ultimo funziona, riesco a sentire gli mp3.
Volevo riuscire a far funzionare Rhythmbox sia per le stazioni radio che poi per gli mp3 , èer quanto riguarda
amarok ancora non sento gli mp3

Cominciamo dal volume. Apri alsamixer e alzalo al massimo, poi esci usando il tasto ESC
Poi sempre da terminale digita il comando:

Postami i messaggi che ti dice intanto che si riavvia alsa e verifica che il volume sia ancora al massimo.
Se non è così digita il comando:
Poi spegni e riaccendi
Per quanto riguarda il flashplayer verifica tra i plugin del web browser se è già installato.
per quanto riguarda i formati multimediali prova a dare il comando:
Ti dovrebbe installare i codec dei formati proprietari. Guarda anche la guida del
wiki
Poi vediamo cosa è cambiato e cosa serve fare ancora

diciamo che il volume è sempre quello, riavviando, il volume rimane quello (alto) anche se il livello (inerente solo graficamente) sembra basso ma tecnicamente il livello audio è ok.
Per quanto riguarda i codec è ok sembra che abbia risolto senza dover installare i codec propiretari

Ho appena riavviato, il volume è alto, confermo però la questione dell'icona da dove si regola il volume, è a zero ma l'audio lo sento lo stesso, va bene così
