sitecom adapter usb 300N x2 non funzionante

Allora, ho da poco comprato questa chiavetta (sitecom adapter usb 300N x2 WLA-2000 v1 001) che dovrebbe permettermi di prendere il wifi.

Il problema è che il computer non riesce nemmeno a leggere la chiavetta... ho provato a guardagere su internet ma quello che ho trovato non funzionava...

Cosa mi consigliate di fare?


P.S.: Ho ubuntu 11.04

Io dispongo della stessa scheda wifi, in versione pcmcia, e funziona bene...

Se serve ho i driver per farla andare su windows... forse con qualche programma si riesce.

Il comando dmesg, consente di leggere tutto quanto accade al sistema dall'avvio, ad esempio all'inserimento della chiavetta come puoi vedere alla riga:

Successivamente il sistema ha tentato di caricare tutti i dati necessari al funzionamento della chiavetta, non ci è riuscito perchè manca un driver, che si chiama net8192su, quindi dobbiamo procedere alla sua installazione utilizzando ndiswrapper, e il cd di installazione di windows.

Qui c'è la guida ufficiale, se hai qualche problema chiedi....

Allora ho scaricato quel programma dal software center e ho messo quel driver net8192su con successo e inserendo la chiavetta mi segnala "Driver rilevato: Sì".

Ora cosa dovrei fare per far partire l'usb? Devo seguire tutti i passaggi della guida che mi hai dato?
(Non ho guardato se l'ID è supportato dal programma, perchè non riesco a capire come si fa...)

Prova a dare questo comando prima di inserire la chiavetta Sitecom:

ora inserisci la chiavetta e vedi se funziona!

Ho fatto quel comando ma non è successo niente e inserendo la chiavetta e digitando "iwconfig" non compare la rete wlan0... non capisco perchè...

Mentre mettendo "iwconfig" mi esce questo:
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

Secondo voi quindi l'usb funziona correttamente o c'è qualcosa che non va?
Perchè non vedo la rete wlan0?
Dove posso vedere se prendo wi-fi nella zona?

Dal comando dmesg che hai postato il comando ndiswrapper funziona male; da terminale postami questo comando:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

ndiswrapper -l

Strano! così sembra OK!

Potrebbe essere un bug di ndiswrapper, prova a rimuoverlo completamente da Software center ed a reinstallarlo.

Ndiswrapper funziona coi driver per Win XP del tuo adattatore di rete wireless; se hai provato coi driver per 7 o Vista non funziona.

Perfetto! Con i driver per XP funziona. (Avevo usato quelli per windows 7...).

Ora è comparsa la wla0.

Clicca sull'icona del Network Manager; dovresti visualizzare un elenco di reti wireless, seleziona la tua rete wireless, si aprirà una finestra, inserisci la password e poi clicca su Connetti.
