Stampante HP 7740 su ubuntu 16.04 lts

Buona sera a tutti,
ho preso una HP OfficeJet Pro 7740; non funziona la scelta dei cassetti (per la stampa su A3); in giro ho trovato solo l'indicazione, che avrebbe dovuto essere risolutiva, di installare HPLIP 3.17.9; niente da fare.

Qualcuno ha idee di come riuscire a stampare su A3?

installa i plugins e poi vediamo se si corege anche questo. La stampante è collegata con il cavo usb??? Se no, usa il cavo per la configurazione.

ho reinstallato la versione 3.17.10, ma il problema rimane identico; queste sono alcune notazioni:

- la stampante è wireless/network, quindi USB non c'è,

- i plugins sono installati,

- non riesce a leggere il file ppd, infatti in hplip.con il file ppd è indirizzato a

ma lì i due file (stampante e fax) ci sono; è una questione di permessi?

- si potrebbe tentare con qualche altro file ppd che gestisca il secondo cassetto con A3 (il problema è che stampa bene su A4, ma scannerizza riducendo il formato e non stampa su A3)?

/etc/cups/ppd/OfficeJet_Pro_7740.ppd file

ti indica dove è il file ppd. bisogna solo autorizzarlo per il tuo utente. Apri il file maneger il file-maneger con i privileggi di root, segui il percorso indicato, li troverai il file -> OfficeJet_Pro_7740.ppd lo evidenzi, tasto destro del file e nella finestra che appare scegli -> Proprieta -> Permessi; nella casella -> Proprietario scegli il tuo nome utente, stessa cosa nella casella -> Gruppo. Chiudi e ridai il comando:

per l'usb, molte volte ho configurato via wireless.

l'utente non sei tu???? Quando dai il comando sudo e ti chiede la passaword tu cosa metti??? Quello è l'utente che devi mettere nelle due voci. Purtroppo non ho una stampante wireles con cui provare, ma quella che mi sono capitate le ho prima configurate via usb. Vedo cosa trovo per la configuraione wireles.

e mi ha rifatto lo stesso scherzo; perdipiù ora se ne frega dei permessi!

rifaccio la procedura che ho seguito prima, reinstallare hplip, poi dare i permessi, e vediamo cosa succede.

Quando hai fatto con hplip, prova dal menu stampanti ad eliminare la stampante e installarla di nuovo.

ho cancellato e reinstallato; solito problema dei permessi, dopo ho ridato i permessi giusti e dice di nuovo che i plugins non sono configurati, se ridò hp-plugin ricominciamo il loop.
vorrei proprio sapere quale è il problema!
sono scoraggiatissimo.
