[Risolto] Scanner Epson V10

Salve a tutti, ho seguito come le altre volte la guida sul wiki
Hardware/StampantiScanner/ScannerEpson, ma stavolta con Ubuntu Mate 18.04 non viene rilevato lo scanner.

Salve, pensa che abbiamo appena revisionato la wiki.
Lo scanner è rilevato stando ai comandi 'dpkg -l | grep iscan' , 'lsusb' e 'sudo sane-find-scanner', solo che stando a quest'ultimo c'è un 'could not fetch string descriptor: Pipe error', che impedisce al comando 'sudo scanimage -L' di vederlo.
Direi invece che non funziona, dall'errore riportato mi verrebbe da pensare un'installazione di qualche pacchetto mal configurata.
Prova con un aggiornamento e recupero errori se sistema la Pipe rotta:

Giusto per proforma, verificato con un altro SO che funzioni tutto ?

Ciao,
personalmente ho verificato il wiki solo con Ubuntu e Kubuntu 18.04 ma non credo che in base al DE ci siano differenze nella gestione degli scanner.
Possiamo provare questo, tanto è tutto reversibile:
aggiungi in
/etc/sane.d/dll.conf e verifica che ci sia anche in
/etc/sane.d/dll.d/iscan una linea contenente
Ricollega lo scanner e provalo.
Se non funzionasse, aggiungi in
/etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf le due seguenti linee

Ciao, ho fatto le modifiche, riavviato il portatile, ma niente
ma possibile che solo con me non funziona?

Potrebbe trattarsi del fatto che tu hai una architettura a 32 bit? In tal caso probabilmente il comando seguente che funziona nei sistemi a 64 bit

sudo ln -sfr /usr/lib/sane/libsane-epkowa* /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane
da te crea i collegamenti in una cartella
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane che non è quella dove sane cerca le sue librerie
Sempre che sia questo il caso, dovresti rieseguire il comando precedente sostituendo /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane con il percorso corretto
A naso io direi che il comando dovrebbe diventare

Buongiorno, qualcosa è cambiato, se avvio iscan, dopo un po di tempo mi esce la finestrella con due scelte:
Epson (unknow model) [Epkowa:usb:001:003]
(Epson Perfection V10/V100 [Epkowa:interpreter:001:003]
nel frattempo che esce, lo scanner si mette in funzione;
se scelgo il secondo modello, iscan si avvia, faccio tranquillamente la scansione di anteprima ma ho problemi nel salvare la scansione.

ok se iscan si apre e fa l'anteprima vedrai che il problema è risolto.
Quindi sei effettivamente a 32 bit?
E potresti scrivere il percorso in cui hai creato i collegamenti con ln -sfr etc.etc.?
sono info preziose per correggere il wiki e comunque per chi leggesse qui
Per eliminare il doppione commenta la riga che ti avevo fatto aggiungere in /etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf
se il problema riguarda il salvataggio in png, nel wiki c'è il relativo workaround in "Risoluzione di problemi"
se non salva in jpg accertati di avere installato tutti i pacchetti che il wiki indica come dipendenze.
Se no, potresti precisare meglio cosa e come non ti funziona?

in pratica è stato il seguente comando per l'architettura 32 bit:

sudo ln -sfr /usr/lib/sane/libsane-epkowa* /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/sane
dopo questo comando lo scanner è funzionante.
Giusto per curiosità vorrei capire perchè ancora c'è l'errore:
