Ciao,
ho appena collegato uno schermo esterno (Acer 24 pollici serie SA240Y) ma i driver delle schede video non mi sembrano aggiornati in quanto durante lo scroll le righe degli scritti tremolano e si trascinano.

Hai selezionato nel pannello Nvidia la giusta risoluzione per il monitor collegato ?

Ciao, sì le impostazioni sono corrette.
Nel frattempo ho "osato" seguire questi consigli
Spero di non aver fatto un passo falso... Semmai fatemi un cenno.

Ad ogni modo non è cambiato nulla a livello di prestazione.

Non serviva questo. Sono stato troppo sintetico io! Volevo sapere se il problema te lo fà con tutte e due le schede grafiche?? Prime serve per impostare l'utilizzo di una, delle due schede grafiche. Comunque nell'utility -> Nvidia X servere Setting - c'è la possibilità di impostare la scheda da utilizzare, ricordandosi che per attivarla devi riavviare o uscire dalla sezione in uso e rientrare.

@Roberto Pontecorvo,

sì, il problema si riscontra sempre, sia con Linux Mint, Ubuntu (in entrambi i casi sia con driver proprietario che con Nouveau) sia Windows (driver nvidia aggiornato).
Quindi a questo punto penso che si tratti di un problema dello schermo stesso.
Domani approfondirò questa possibilità.

Vedi le frequenze di aggiornamento di monitor e scheda video se corrispondono. Monitor recenti che supportano il 4K hanno frequenze di refresh di 100Hz o superiori e non tutte le schede grafiche sono in grado di adeguarsi.

Oggi ho confrontato la situazione collegando un altro monitor al pc e posso escludere un problema dello schermo perché la situazione è identica.
Ho anche ripristinato i parametri dello schermo e mi sono accorto che "l'intervallo OSD" era settato sul massimo. Ora l'ho impostato al minimo e la situazione è nettamente migliorata, anzi a me sembra molto accettabile.
Durante lo scoll c'è ancora un po' di ritardo ma nulla di veramente esagerato.
Ipotizzo che si tratti di regolare eventualmente la frequenza ma in quel campo sono proprio neofita.
Ho provato a modificare le impostazioni del driver Nvidia scagliendo tra i diversi livelli qualitativi disponibili ma, non avendo notato cambiamenti significativi, l'ho impostato su "performance"
A questo punto, a meno che qualcuno di voi vede cose che io non noto negli output che avete chiesto e che quindi valga la pena di intervenire, io mi fermerei qui considerando la questione risolta.

Posto però comunque quello che ho ottenuto con i comandi suggeriti da Roberto.

Qui dice che il file è stato correttamente creato e scritto. Dai il comando cat...... così vediamo la configurazione. Il comando -> > xrandr --verbose ci mette un pò di tempo a comparire, devi avere pazienza.

Scusatemi... sono stato via per un po'.
Ho riprovato ma, a meno che cat si debba dare diversamente..., non succede proprio nulla...
Inoltre devo avvertire che ora ho a disposizione solo Linux Mint... e non so se questo cambia qualcosa. Secondo me non dovrebbe ma...

grazie. I drive e il monitor vengono riconosciuti in modo corretto. La scheda nvidia non viene rilevata perchè il comando sbagliato, leggi bene -> sudo -c display - manca qualcosa. Mi confermi che il pc è un portatile e il monitor è collegato alla presa HDMI???.
