HP 2630 riconosciuta solo se accesa al boot?

La mia multifunzione HP 2630 viene riconosciuta solo se accesa e collegata al boot?
Se quando accendo il PC non è accesa e collegata (via USB) non viene riconosciuta(?) e non funziona ne come stampante ne come scanner.
Su Ubuntu 20.04 e 20.10 NON viene riconosciuta neanche se accesa, per farla funzionare devo eseguire hp-doctor, su 21.04 non serve hp-doctor ma deve essere pre-collegata.
Ma l'USB non dovrebbe ovviare a problemi del genere?
Non chiedo aiuto per ovviare al problema (non mi costa nulla tenerla collegata o eseguire hp-doctor) ma vorrei sapere se capita qualcosa di simile anche a voi.

perchè non posti il risultato, così vediamo cosa installa il comando. Penso che tu lo abbia già fatto, di hplip è uscita 3.20.11 che pare funzioni alla grande su quelle distribuzioni.

Da terminale dai questi comandi:

copia e incolla questa riga:

Edit: Ubuntu 21.04 Fatto boot con stampante collegata ma spenta, poi accesa
MAGNIFICO! funziona! sei un MAGO! (nomen omen)
Per la stampante ne vedo 2, la prima non va, la seconda SI.
Lo scanner ha funzionato solo DOPO aver stampato una pagina, prima non vedeva lo scanner.

RiEdit: domani farò qualche prova con il 20.04 e il 20.10

RiRiedit: sul 20.04 non funzionava neanche se la printer era accesae collegata al boot, dopo la tua cura FUNZIONA. Lo scanner (simple-scan) trova lo scanner giusto e funziona dopo aver stampato una pagina, ma non prima.

Riedit ancora altrimenti mi cazziano per doppio post: sul 21.04 è arrivato il nuovo hplip

così per prova ho installato la nuova ISO: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Alpha amd64 (20201213)
e ho provato la stampante e lo scanner SENZA le modifiche del MAGO
FUNZIONA TUTTO OOTB (Out Of The Box) anche se la stampante non è collegata a Boot
