Visto che il Driver Plug-in Installation di HP Device Manager non avanza se gli dico di scaricare i plug-in dal server HP autorizzato, devo forse abilitare qualche repository? Oppure posso scaricare io i plug-in files e dirgli di installarli usando la local copy?

Li puoi scaricare da qui -> https://www.openprinting.org/download/p ... P/plugins/ e li installi come hai detto.
Un mio consiglio è di installare hplip3.22.10.

Bho, ho detto "no", forse avrei dovuto dire si?!
comunque, da terminale il mio tentativo di installare hplip 3.22.10: ho scaricato il .run in Scaricati, dove c'era ancora la cartella dei files della 3.20.5.
non capisco se ha reinstallato la vecchia versione 3.20.5.
dovrei metterla nel cestino quella cartella prima di avviare installazione del 3.22.10.run?!

Per quanto riguarda i plug-ins su https://www.openprinting.org/download/p ... P/plugins/, una volta riuscito il passaggio alla nuova versione di hplip, cosa dovrei scaricare?
immagino: hplip-3.22.10-plugin.run e hplip-3.22.10-plugin.run.asc
giusto?
li metto in scaricati e li faccio aprire dal device manager...giusto?

Si hai reinstallato la 3.20.... Se leggi con attenzione la risposta del comando -> hp-doctor, vedi che viene menzionato hplip3.20... Elimina tutti i pacchetti di hplip con il seguente comando:

sudo apt --purge remove hplip*
Anche se l'installazione di hplip3.22.. li elimina in automatico. Fatta pulizia avvia hplip3.22.10, basta cliccarci due volte sopra con il mouse. Durante l'installazione ti chiede se vuoi installare i plugin, tu rispondi di si.

spero che queste directory che non vengono rimosse non siano un problema per l'installazione a venire...

hplip3.22.10 avviato, durante l'installazione mi dice che ci sono alcuni caratteri non riconosciuti all'interno del file. mi chiede se voglio cambiare la policy di lettura (ma attenzione, il documento potrebbe risultare inutilizzabile). Cambio da "locale" a "occidentale" (non ricordo piu le sigle esatte), gli dico di riprovare, e attualmente "Editor di testo non risponde", dopo aver ravanato per qualche minuto :nono:

Spero che un angelo custode linux-decoder appaia in linea prima di mezzodì per evitarmi di cliccare ancora sul pulsante sbagliato.... ;)

Bho, l'installazione è ferma e si presenta piu o meno tutta così:

ne deduco che la modifica non è riuscita....

Vabbè, anche stavolta non è andata. Se riesco a riconnettermi stasera provo a scaricare di nuovo hplip-3.22.10-plugin.run e reinstallarlo.

Se hplip scaricato é nella cartella Scaricati, da terminale connesso ad Internet dai questi xomandi:

Prova a portare il file hplip dalla directory "Scaricati" alla tua home e dargli i permessi di esecuzione come programma e poi lo avvi.

ciao
ho riprovato a installare la versione 3.22.10 da Scaricati, prima di spostarla. Aparentemente, stavolta ha funzionato (ho risposto YES al buon momento!).
Provo ad aprire lo scanner, mi dice che servono i plug-in, provo a scaricarli cliccando "next" dalla schermata

Da quelle foto non si capisce nulla!
Scusa, ma lo screenshot in dimensione originale era troppo grande da caricare sul forum, ho dovuto ridurlo....se necessario posso postare tutto in copy/paste

ci riprovo. ho spostato hplip nella home, permesso come programma, avviato, ma mi da sempre questo errore di lingua:

l'installazione arriva fino alla linea 226228, poi si ferma. se cerco di copiare tutto l'editor di testo non risponde. non saprei come altro condividerlo...

scusate, qui si vedono le 3 opzioni dell'editor di testo per risolvere il problema (riprova con altra codifica - modifica lo stesso -X)

Se l'hai installato, perché reinstallarlo? NON LO SO...PERCHÉ LE STO PROVANDO TUTTE?! a volte siamo i peggiori nemici di noi stessi :devilmad:
Sono connessa a internet, stampante accesa e collegata al pc, ma il comando "dpkg -l | grep hplip" non da nessuna risposta....se ho ben capito il comando cerca hplip in una directory? ho dato il comando sia nella home che in scaricati. Forse lo cerca nel file dell'Editor di Testo? È ancora aperto e bloccato sulla domanda relativa alla codifica dei caratteri, e non me lo fa salvare (nemmeno con "salva tutti"). Bho, io ipotizzo... :sherlock:
