Ho appena acquistato un modem ADSL D-Link DSL 200 Generation III; sto provando a configurare eciadsl in modalità grafica (eciadsl-config-tk), seguendo i parametri del sito, ma ogni volta che premo un pulsante mi esce una finestra di errore (Syntax Error  "(" unexpected).
Non so cosa fare, qualcuno può aiutarmi? Mi connetto con Tele2.

Leggendo qualcuna delle 50 e passa pagine del topic ho risolto il problema; solo che adesso, quando do eciadsl-start arriva al punto 4/5 (connecting to provider) e si blocca tutto il pc...
Ho provato varie combinazioni delle impostazioni, ma il massimo che ho ottenuto è stato una connessione subito terminata, con un errore di PPPoE.

salve a tutti! sto cercando di connettermi con il modem dsl-200 III generation ma ho un problema: nè con la riga di comando sul terminale, nè con il copia normale riesco a spostare i file sync nella directory etc/eciadsl.

nel primo caso mi dice che non è stato trovato alcun file, sebbene abbia estratto il pacchetto e nel secondo mi dice che non ho i privilegi. sono certo che dimentico qualcosa ... ma ... non so cosa! :-[

ps 2 so che non è la sezione giusta, ma chiedo lo stesso visto che è cosa veloce: quale formato posso usare per una partizione comune win/ubuntu di documenti visibile da entrambi i sistemi? fat32?

ciao per quanto riguarda il bloccaggio ho scoperto che per il mio caso ( leggi i post sopra) che lo faceva quando avevo inserito qualsiasi periferica usb collegata.
Io dalla disperazione ho comprato un router ethernet, va bene anche solo modem, ma ethrnet, e visto che l'hai appena comprato, potresti cambiarlo con uno così. Ti semplificherebbe molto la vita, dovresti infatti utilizzare network manager che è già integrato in ubuntu e può gestire le connessioni a tempo. Io personalmente ho optato per una flat così non ci penso più.

ho trovato molto esaustiva la guida e sono riusscito a installare il modem senza prooblemi. quando poi do il comando sudo eciadsl-start si blocca al punto 4. Anche dando CTRL + C non succede nulla. Si blocca anche il mouse e non riesco a far altro che riavviare il pc.
Io utilizzo Xubuntu 8.10, kernel linux 2.6.27-7-generic, modem Conitech Kiowa, provider Wind infostrada.

Posta il file resolv.conf, apri il terminale e digita cat /etc/resolv.conf, poi incolla quà il risultato

Con questi:

Fatto, ma non va. Come prima arrivati al punto 4 si blocca tutto. Non si riesce più a far nulla, non resta che riavviare il pc dal bottoncino... Cosa può essere?

No mi son dimenticato di dirti che ogni volta che cambi i dati su quel file devi staccare l'alimentazione del modem per dieci secondi circa e riprovare.

Non vede l'usb.
Proviamo, fai sudo lsusb e vedi se ti vede il chipset del modem.
