Compiz/Unity non funziona

Salve ragazzi
Uso ormai da qualche mese Natty a 64bit (ho una scheda grafica nvidia GeForce Go 7300) ed è da un pò che non riesco più ad avviare compiz, all'inizio credevo fosse solo un problema legato agli aggiornamenti ma sono passate diverse settimane e per di più non riesco a trovare segnalazioni simili del problema che possano aiutarmi almeno a capire da cosa questo dipenda.
Il problema è questo, io do da terminale "compiz --replace" lo schermo lampeggia come ha sempre fatto, si attiva il composite ma tutto rimane bloccato.Non cambia nulla se uso "unity --replace" o se disattivo il plugin unity da ccsm.

Ho provato a reinstallare tutto ma niente, il problema persiste.

Dovrebbe essere l'ultimissima, unity 3.8.8

Prova a dare sudo unity --distro e poi unity --reset a volte risolve

Ecco cosa ottengo. Ho provato anche a dare "sudo unity --distro" ma non cambia il risultato

poi hai dato unity --reset?

Ps unity --distro va dato come root sudo unity --distro
